Dude, we've done loads of stuff here. People have designed buildings in Google SketchUp, gif animations etc. We've been through stages like the animated rain thing and the ban on CnC. Check out Haruki's DA, theres load of drawings and stuff. And we started the lolcat/orly/fail thread. Anyway, sigs and wallpapers are awesome.
'We' didn't start the on nom/orly/etc. thread, it was Titmar and titmar alone. I do see what you're saying though hotpokket. G&A is dominated by sigs but on a forum they're the most enticing things to create. Additionally, the majority doesn't really know how to critique something other than a sig or wallpaper, as they may not understand the means of other products. I mean that with no disrespect to anyone but a lot of the long-time G&A'ers are very experienced and 'knowledgable' of sigs.
It was more titmar and Squidhands that made it what it is. They didn't do it alone, no doubt, but they did it the best.
tbh, all of my 6 months of experience has been with sigs and sigs alone. I am quite experience in their creation and wouldn't know where to begin if i tried making anything else. The only other thing i have knowledge and talent with is manips, one of which i wear in my sig. Also, this size of GFX is easiest to work with as it is smaller and mistakes arent so obvious.
I have been doing other thin recently, like shirt design, but those threads get very little posts. If only...
When I finish my sculpture I'm doing in art I'll post some pictures of it. I also have a portrait I should be getting back from the fair here soon. Once I get it, I'll take a photo of it and put in on here. Also, I've been doing some pencil and ink sketches here recently, I just have to scan them to the computer. These things take time (woah all of those words start with T) just give me a little bit and I'll put some stuff up. By the way, I posted some macro photography shots I took. You can find them here.
Why yes i did prove your point. But where am i going to find the tuts and knowledge to make anything else? Most tuts are for sigs.
