hey dipshit, i've been on this itouch since the night I made that tag. don't come jumping down my throat because you know your wrong
I know I'm wrong? Right. So if I make just one mistake, I know I'm wrong? Would you like me to bring up other threads?
Spoiler *Ahem* The criticism given on my Blossoming signature was far from clear and concise. Diz's comments didn't state anything that could be improved upon. He said he didn't like it and never said why. I decided to let it go and not pursuit the issue any farther because of past experiences where I'd been berated for not doing anything to a signature, when I'd spent several days on it. As for Lock rating your photo 3/10 because he doesn't like it, that's unacceptably narrow minded and should be avoided when ever replying to any topic. The matter of taking everyone's criticism. You shouldn't let every comment manipulate you into making a signature you don't identify with, but you also shouldn't ignore critiques you disagree with. All criticism has it's merit, and should be considered when reviewing what could be done better in your work. Taking advice that you don't agree with in stride, and not fighting back like you are now, will make everything run much smoother.
Well, as far as taking advice, read them try to understand what the person is saying. If you don't like there suggestion, or don't know how it will help just try it if its pretty simple like changing a border. Sometimes things that you think wont turn out good do. Don't just ignore them if you don't try it either, simply say you don't think it would turn out as well as something else...
Now was I fighting it in this thread? No, you just came right up and accused me. Like I said, I will take criticism that I AGREE with. And Diz's advice was clear. He said put more work into it, he didn't just downright say it was ugly. When he said there were barely any effects, he probably meant "put more in" rather than just having it sit there like it already is. There's no excuse for that either, except to use the same I have used. But whatever choice you make, it still doesn't account for the random argument you threw at me. Back to my point. Now that you agree with me on the fact I shouldn't take every criticism, you can shut-up now, right?
Peace Treaty *sigh* Diz's advice was far from clear, two sentences saying he thought not much was done is not clear. I don't even know what I'd glean from that. I never said you shouldn't take every critique you get. I said you consider every bit of criticism you get. Take it in stride and use it to better your creative ability. Just because you don't think that the person's advice is valid, doesn't mean isn't. When you get criticism you don't agree with, you seem to dodge the issue and completely ignore it in some cases. In this thread you were just pussyfooting around and making jokes to try and cover your own mistakes. When I directly questioned you about it you got selfdefensive and called me stupid for posting what I did. The sum of this is, don't put a wall when faced with negative feedback. Embrace the criticism, experiment with it. Explore with what you can create based on other's points of view. Don't dance around the issues, and dodge the tough criticism. Use it to improve upon your mistakes. That's all that people were pointing out, mistakes. You had the shadow facing the wrong way, and they showed it to you. Take that and do a few quick adjustments to the signature, post the new version, and see what people think. Personally I found the signature you made really really good. Not too busy, shows bits of symbolism. A very clean and professional signature. Just open up to simple criticism, and you can continue to make pictures of this caliber.
Who ever said I don't consider criticism? You're the only one who has. I don't "dodge," I imagine it in my head, and I know how it's going to look. So I can easily save time. Quit assuming. Oh... my... gosh. Thank-you rabbi. Your words are inspirational. Don't bother wasting your time flattering me. You still think of me as someone who doesn't listen to anybody. You could catagorize me as a different person than the others. Listen, everyone here aims to be good at signatures. THAT'S why I won't take most of the criticism. I don't want my signatures to be GOOD, I want them to be to my liking. When I post a CnC thread, I ask for ideas. So far, no one has given me on any of my signatures. Just complaints on how they don't like it.
*Deep breath* I'm really getting tired of this. I just wanted this to end on a better note than the rest of our banter has been. I tried to put things kindly, and not use such bitterly cynical sarcasm. I actually do like the signature you made, but apparently you can't even take praise at face value. Why would I flatter you. First off, I refuse to suck up to anyone, flatter anyone, or kiss anyone's ass. Come off your high horse. If you can't communicate with people and not throw up walls at criticism, you'll never get any where in your life. I don't think of you who won't listen to anybody. I see you as someone who's too defensive to use criticism in a positive light. Someone who takes things too personally, when they never were intended to be. Your a person... Who needs to take things not so seriously. Get over yourself, and you'll be able to get over negative criticism easier...
The shadow is going the wrong way. =/ And even though it is, it strangely still looks good. As for Kumquat and the situation at hand, it's Frag's decision to either take or not take the criticism. To many people, your opinion doesn't matter, just like in this situation. Instead of telling him to take the criticism, you should just criticize and leave and know that you were able to express your opinion without starting an argument.
My lord... I honestly do not know how to respond to this. How many times do I have to prove you wrong, and how many times are you going to bring someone's "personal" problems that you think helps the fact that you're wrong? Everything you say is completely irrelevant to the argument. The whole point in the argument was to prove to you that I only take certain amounts of criticism that I agree on. Now you're talking about my future like you're my mother. Are my phsyciatrist? Now you keep belittling me about how I'm not responding to criticism the way you want me too. Heck, I was even responding politely to the criticism in this thread, and you out of the blue said that I throw every piece of criticism out the window. Then you changed it to me ignoring criticism. And now you've changed it to me being a beligerant child who thinks he's high of himself. Seriously, what it wrong with you? I even handled each subject change you sent at me. First, I said I haven't ignored every piece of criticism. Then you changed it to the fact that I ignore criticism I don't like. I responded; yes, I do because if I didn't monitor the criticism that came into the thread, it wouldn't be my signature. NOW you say that I am a beligerent child who can't take negative criticism. OH... MY... GOD. I've taken every criticism handed to me, and I will defend my art. I'm sure you wouldn't like someone coming in and saying your signature sucks, would you? You even responded heavily on someone who did! Quit being the hypocrite you are. Finally, you think you're right, correct? I bet you do. Who thinks their smarter than me? You do, because you can't drop it. You keep pursuing. This proves that I'm not the only one "high on his chair" right? You will go to the ends of the earth to prove you're right right now, just so you don't have to worry about losing. You don't to get off your own chair.
