(I see this as a rant, i apologize in advance if anyone is affected)

I just wanna ask when did this forum start going downhill. Half of the screenshots on the first page first of all have one screenshot, second, are absolutely horrible (no technique involved, atrocious framing, retarded content, etc...), and third, fills up the Screenshot forum!

There needs some kind of standards for this forum. Artistically, that's impossible. I know that, and accept it.

But these screenshots, screenshots that people who know better post anyway, screenshots that the poster knows there would be none or otherwise sad and pathetic replies to them, are finding their way onto the Screenshot forum.

There's gotta be something in these people's heads like, "Waitaminute, is this a good screenshot? If it's not, why waste my time embedding it and posting it on Forgehub?"

I'm not saying that every picture on the forum needs to have an effect, or needs explosions and snipers, or must be absolutely perfect.

What i want is a forum of screenshots where people actually put EFFORT INTO THE SCREENSHOTS THEY POST. Because any regular forum visitor can tell when there is no effort in a screenshot.

I agree, people are just posting pictures
    for random attention.Grow Up!!So yes I agree
with you.For example did you ever see the one
pic where the guy sticks him when he is in the

I totally agree with you. As you said they don't need an effect just some sort of effort in it. I've seen quite a few pictures where it's just some guy T-Bagging a body.

Good job Black Theorem you explained your point in a way everyone can understand.

I understand your point, not all of the screenshots are good, but people have different opinions, and to have a rule saying 'ONLY GOOD SCREENSHOTS ALLOWED' would mean that somebody would have to judge all screenshots, also having a rule saying 'ONLY SCREENSHOTS WHICH TOOK EFFORT' wouldn't be fair because somebody could take an absolutely amazing screenshot using a simple effect, but it didn't take much effort because it may only have been a frag explosion for example. Also, what is wrong with posting only one screenshot at a time?

There isn't, honestly, but usually when i browse the Screenshot forum, i open up multiple threads. I kinda get disappointed if it was one shot in each thread that starts to slow down the computer. Technically, this is a personal problem.

I don't mind if it's one awesome pic that's been extensively discussed, but i don't like one simple pic, that nobody would post replies on, taking up space on the forums.

I agree with you. I have seen to many really horrible screenshots. I saw one were someone was just in the water on Vahalla. Thank you for bringing up this point, but what can we do about it?

There is nothing to do except to try and establish a standard. Similar to what interlocking did to maps here on FH, we need Effort to be a main focus in the forums. I'm not saying dont comment on anything that's crappy just so people will take notice, but the regular Forgehub member needs a moment of insight so that they see the Screenshot forum is a valuable section of the site, and should be treated the same way as the Maps forum.

Agreed, I especially hate when they just move the camera into a Frag explosion to make some random matchmaking scene look "cooler" especially when all they are doing is making evrything in the screenshot unviewable to human eyes!!!

True, i have to agree, but its always been like this, and being on bungie favorites helped The screenshot section horribly. Just saying.

Thanks, guys, for the understanding. The forum seems better as it seems I haven't visited as regularly (New responsibilities, groups, etc.) Glad to see a little of a come around here.

One thing I have issue with though.

I post screenshots sometimes to get some feedback on what will make it better if I don't know what I should do to it. I know its not the best shot but I'm looking for ideas.

Your thought discourages this which is bad because how else will people who aren't as good at screenshots learn and get good feedback?

I feel that if you make an effort to learn from the comments on your thread, then you will become a better photographer. I don't discourage it, i uphold it. If you make a thread in an attempt to learn from mistakes and progress, posting pics that you actually attempted to make either presentable or good, then I see no problem. Just dont take a pic of a Spartan with a spiker on his cojones called "Boner", and your only reason is "Just because... :)"

That's just unacceptable, as stated in my OP.

Basically, if you use the thread to post a pic(s) to get better at it and make the effort to get better, then it's fine by me.

I agree completely with you. People should (usually) post more then 1 image. Also I'm tired of screenshots with no effects or even just colorblind on. It discourages people from looking through the screenshot's here on forgehub because many of the threads don't have enough quantity or don't have enough quality.
