Every single time i want to get a game going on Manifest every one in the party just gets angry yells at me or leaves. One of my friends (who i never thought id hear him say something like this) said it would be good if the zombies died in one hit and the humans had no shields i was pretty upset. My mic was broken at the time so i couldnt explain to them how good it was and how to actually make it fun. I dont get it though why would they think this of the best infection game? Most of them where 10 year olds with high pitched voices that where just complaining the whole time. So after three rounds i quit. I never once got to be the grindnaught because everyone i played with strayed from the group and got infected within the first minute and a half. So anyone know why most noobs dont like manifest?

Manifest is a custom game, that in my opinion, is too mature for the laid-back type of infection. Sure it's decent, if you're seirous about the game, but usually most people don't want to play something so team oriented. And it's one thing to go off whining about it, but to bring it on FH?

Well, when I played through it everyone was having fun, running around and stuff...
then we got stuck at the warthog part. Eventually we had everyone, even the zombies trying to figure out how to beat the level.
Thing is, most immature players see infection as an unequal battle, not a different kind of battle. Being a zombie is a PUNISHMENT for failing to camp correctly, not a chance for a different play style and goal. The trick is to gradually lure them into Manifest, starting with stuff like Township* where camping is the focus but it's executed REALLY WELL.
Anyways, I know the pain, good luck.

Most noob players nowadays are to used to that normal fail infection games, like fat kid, where the fun is all one-sided, on Manifest, it's very well balanced, making the noobs feel bored, because they are so addicted to the easy infection games. So like Chedderboy said, don't go straight into Manifest, it's to intense for your friends, first play maps like Township, which is easier than Maifest. Then as they feel Township is good, move on to Manifest.

So now my map is merely a stepping stone to supposedly greater maps. That makes me feel so good inside! (/sarcasm)

I'll just have to show everyone what township can be when I get sandbox... and an xbox.

Manifest is the second best Infection variant.

Smear da Pinkie is the best.

Well when you think about Manifest, you think of Competitive Infection. The game Left 4 Dead itself is a teamwork kind of game, where if one person is screwing around, and being an idiot, then the whole team of humans fails. Most of the Halo 3 custom games audience likes those Camp The Zombies 2 Death/Hide In Room Killing Anything That Comes In type of infection games. But then there are the people who like to break away from the normal every day spawn camping infection map and play something that requires skill. Manifest is that map.

Your friends most likely don't like Manifest because they don't like Competitive Infection maps, and that's fine. I have a few friends who quit the game everytime I bring up Manifest, and that's okay.

Then there are games like Smear Da Pinkie that take skill, but don't take teamwork. They are all divided into there own little catagories, so it's the viewers opinion on which map provides you with the best infection gameplay.

I bold every other word and it makes me look like I planned my post instead of just writing something and posting it.

No hard feelings, but at least it's better than orange text :p

Actually, I feel the opposite. Most of my school friends just want to play Predator. Every time I try to introduce something like Pennyless or Dr. Spy (Best game ever than no one remembers), they all hate it. They even hate Township, but mainly because I don't tell them where anything is and they have to wait 2 minutes to do anything. But when I fire up a game of (Manifest) Help's on the way right, Tremors Blast or Tremors and Mouse, they're addicted. Personally, if I play something and my first impression is bad, I never want to play it again. Find new friends? That's what ForgeHub is about.

Generally, if you can't camp and the zombies have no disadvantage, and you have to use teamwork, it won't be good in the eyes of the typical noob.

The quality of the gameplay in manifest is solely dependent on the cooperation of the humans, which is a problem when your party is filled with apathetic or semi-retarded people. However, Manifest, while a novel idea, never truly seems to be fun after the first game or two. It would honestly play great if some randomization where set in. Hopefully, this is a potential for its successor.

I got about 7 people hooked on Tremors blast the other day. Once they got past the 'man it sucks you can't shoot' thing, they all loved it, even when running out of lives.

    Fat kid.. fail? WTF?

Fat kid is good on certain maps, like omega journwy, you get such a good feeling killing the trapped humans..... i admit, 1shot kill zombies is horrible (unless humans have no radar and zombies have full camo)

I have to say i agree with you "n00b" friends and disagree with you, i find it very boring as a zombie and not exciting at all as a human because as a zombie you can't kill them easily and you die to easily when you try and get a human unless you assassinate them and as a human if you get in a good spot then the zombies will never get you.

Honestly, Manifest is not very fun (in my opinion), requiring too much teamwork for a laid back infection game. Township, on the other hand, is the one I play so much, everyone in my party says AGGAIN!?!?!

Most little kids like those type of infection games that is like a Fat Kid or one shot fast running zombies. Manifest is too complex for little kids. Try and find a party with mature and older people.

I don't mean to toot my own horn, but.. well.. actually?.. is smear the pinkie even infection? Its different, its its own catagory.

Hey, i didn't toot my horn!

Well i don't blame you, you gotta keep the n00bs on your schoolbus happy, they might start a riot. Or even worse, complain about manifest!!! Imagine the threads that would start.. Oh God...

Manifest among other games is different and hard to get used to, and people don't like what they don't know. People like your friends have a narrow attention spand, if they dont like it from the start they won't give an effort to try and get used to it.

That is the worst over-used bullshit i have ever played on custom games.
But i feel the same way dude, people i know hate it also =[

The real thing that annoys me on these infection "noob" games is the fact that if you are the zombie you will get owned. It is as if being a zombie is a punishment...
