This one was my favorite pic I took for the "ODST Mythic" contest Bungie had.

No offense but that is one of the most boring screenshots I've ever seen.

Thanks for commenting, but you never specified why you think it's boring. Is it because it doesnt have a lot of super flashy colors, or excessively bright explosions / backgrounds which ruin the pic?

I chose this screenshot as one of my favourites because the ODST looks almost real, and the lighting is enough to make him look not-as-cartoony as Halo 3's style of graphics.

Let's hope other people have more taste then just super-colourful lighting effects.

It highlights the superb halo 3 in-depth graphics, but this picture took no skill or special circumstances to take.

Ok then, I think it's boring because the picture looks light it is just a bit of light from a spike grenade explosion, also I personally try not to take pictures with this effect when I go in theater. Happy now?

Thank you, that was the whole point of this picture, and what I was aiming to point out in Bungie's "ODST Mythic" screenshot contest where you had to take screenshots from campaign.

I think otherwise, it's not like I had the forging opportunity to place whatever equipment I wanted to make different lighting effects, and you can't force the AI to look at certain angles. Also, I think I got a good background in place, which has some of the better textures (some trees don't look as good). Also the way the "lines" flow in the shot seem to make you look around, but end up looking at the detail in the visor. Not necessarily because it's a different coour, and it's not significantly brighter.

Saying it took no skill is incorrect, as there are tons of other ways this shot coud have ended up and not look as detailed / real-life looking.

Oh, and yes, I did use a frag grenade, but I actually know how much of it to use without butchering the picture.

Yeah this isn't very good. You just took a close-up of a ODST Trooper in a little different lighting than normal. 0/5

Good job on being a douche.

Dw about him... The Angle is great in my opinion and is certainly a good picture for Campaign. I bet half the people that hate this screenshot only hate it cause there isn't any super duper colors.

    4/5

I don't particularly care for the almost total lack of color(the tree is still green), but I can appreciate the look you were going for. And I personally think the angle is good too. I especially love how you can clearly see the reflections in his helmet, thats something you don't normally see.

Like Chronik said, don't worry about those other pricks who only want flashy effects. Keep on snappin pics...

We don't want flashy effects, flashy effects can look good, but most looks over the top, this picture just seems a bit boring.

I think you could ahve at least put a sticky grenade in the back because its boring and not a very good angle. Sorry.

I think all these people are on crack.

It's a very nice, rather peaceful screenshot. Its not flashy or over the top, and it does exactly what it intends to do. It's a safe screenshot, no doubt about it. Nothing too special. But it's not bad.

I guarantee you if a professional photographer took a look at your typical "FLASH IN MY FACE" screenshot compared to this one, they'd say this one was a better picture.

Okay this is a great screen shot, just too simple, I would add a few more things, maybe something really cool in the background.
    Hope that helps?

Brilliant Screenshot. Shows off the graphics nicely

    Would make a nice poster if there was a caption along the bottom;

    "(O)rbital (D)rop (S)hock (T)rooper"

^ In a black border with the image above it, anyone with Photoshop/similar wanna give it a go?

The angle with the BR, I like. Although the background needs a little work, I like the pose of the ODST. 3.7/5.
