Okay, so I have an old 360 without an HDMI output, and I got one of those converter boxes from Game Stop--the ones that slide in the A/V out and only provide HDMI and digital optical audio out. Now, I got that box because I need an HDMI output, but the box appears to be malfunctioning.

What happens is I'll boot the system, but every few seconds I get static that splashes across the screen and blanks out the picture. Now, if I switch out an use the component cable, it works just fine, which means the problem either lies in the HDMI cable or in the converter.

I'm just curious if anyone else has encountered this problem, and if so, how they fixed it...

I think your one of the few people who actually need that box...

Good luck finding someone who has it...

Just run on VGA, man. The quality is just barely lower than HDMI, and it's much easier to deal with.

I suppose I could, as that would also give me the analog audio output...but that cable's rather rare from my searching. I'll go 'round again in looking for it, but that'll be a good $70 down the drain ($40 for the box when I got it, $30 for the cable if my memory serves me correctly) into a company no longer based in the USA...
