Wizlock Created by xxMrMojoRisinxx Supported Gametypes: Slayer Team Slayer CTF KOTH Oddball Map Description Remake of Wizard / Warlock. Center structure is more like Wizard i.e. there is no bottom mid. Weapon placement is more like Warlock. I used blocks instead of ladders or lifts. Ok from what i can see it looks decent. Maybe you should add more pics, but after i play it ill let you know what i think.
yea, it looks ok, im not a big fan of either level, so i wont be downloading, but the actual forge quality is decent, nothing too special, but its not bad. You definately need more pics though
out of curiosity, why the choice to not use grav lifts...? edit- i checked it out in Forge, this map is a pretty damn good remake. the only thing missing is the grav lifts, but i do see your point and i dont think it would detract from the gameplay... still havent played on it but it looks like it will play fine.
I think the gravity lifts are inconsistant. The blocks seem to be the best all around solution. Wizzard used ladders and of coarse Warlock had lifts. The blocks make a good middle ground.
map played very well i dont knwo why you didnt use grav lifts and also for everyones benifit for those who dont yet have the mythic maps could you please post and overview shot of this map or like 2 pics for the whole overview
Thanks for the feedback, I added a few more pics. I think this map is about 80% Wizzard, 15% Warlock and 5% unique. I tried using lifts but it just didn't feel right. Also they are destructible. Even if you have them set to instant respawn it still takes a couple seconds for them to respawn. They also seem to be very unpredictable. If you hit them at the wrong angle you'll land back on the floor instead of on the base.
to fix the unpredictability factor, you could save them at a slight angle and then place another angled block above it, at the spot where it launches the players. the player will then slide along the angled block and land where you want them to every time. cant you also interlock them into a block to avoid them being destructible but still using the grav lift function? i could be wrong on that part.
This map is freaking SWEET! I downloaded a Wizard/Warlock Remake already, but this one looks so much more accurate... and less bumpy...
This remake looks to be well done. Th forging itself, is well done, and for the most part, it holds true to the originals. I also would like to know why you did not use lifts. I think would be better, and it could be easily done. Lifts keep the flow more than jumps. I also would like to know a few things about the middle. Is it still an easy jump? What made you decide to leave out the bottom? How does it affect gameplay?
You know I think I might replace the blocks with lifts. I personly think it plays very well without them. When I first tried useing the lifts on this map they just seemed to be inconsistant. Someone a few posts back gave me some ideas for fixing them. In either case the map plays very well. This is more of a Wizard remake than a Warlock remake. That is why I did'nt put the tunel in bottom mid. The center structure is raised a bit higher than Wizard or Warlock. It plays really, really good like that. Mostly because the original platforms have a small blunted edge on the center most corner that this map dosn't have. The center jump feels more like it did on Wizard. It's not hard to make by any means but it is easier to miss than Warlock was.
Its good... but this is the most remade map yet so if you make it its gotta be perfect which few maps are. So think of a more unused remake and give it a shot. Also try to find pics of warlock to compare.
I like the remake, it's very simiular to the original. Although i'm with the other dude about the whole gravlift thing. I also think theres room to add alittle bit of spice to the map. I saw alittle room for improvement. other than that its beautiful
id like to see a pillar above the camo so players can't jump over it, more like in the original. if you add lifts try making a ceiling above it so the player doesn't go too far up in the air cant wait to play it
This map looks pretty good, however, one thing that you many want to put or fix in a V2 is that the middle structure had a passage through the bottom part. Otherwise, smooth locking, GJ! 4.5/5
