This is my first map. It is a symetrical MLG map, which has, unlike most of the maps, the bases in the corners. The other two corners are high platforms, which are big key positions. The two sides are being connected by a large bridge, with a mauler below. The bases have a platform on top of them, great for defending. The open area is the middle is filled with two double-boxes, which allow a player more safe zones and it's a tactical position, great for defending your base. Plays TS, Oddball, CTF and KotH. I've tested this map myself, not yet in a 4v4, but in a 3v3. The spawns and the map itself work out really well. Please note that this is my first map ever, so the forging is a bit sloppy. There are no glitchy hiding spots, except for the crane, but some items do not connect well. An overview of the map A-Base B-Base Blue Side Red Side Mauler Bottom Mid Flag Capture! Ok, here we go: Bad things: Sloppy and not very well designed. Not your first map... your first map submitted to forgehub. NEVER, I REPEAT, NEVER USE WIRE SPOOLS... the only exception might... MIGHT be if you held them down with weapon holders. Good things: Relatively average lines of sight, maybe a bit too open at points and could use more cover at the bases. An ok design. I'm sorry, but this is only half as good as the expertly forged MLG maps. I give it a 2.5
Dude... Doesnt look that good... I mean neatness wise. I say you take it and Remake it in the Crypt of Sandbox when you get it (if you do) Itll look better, you can put more time on the details and no the walls... itll look sooo much better. Believe me
How would you know it isn't my first map? It is, if you don't count my variations of Guardian, Blackout and Construct so you can spawn kill more on them But no wire spools? I'll replace them. I know it's only half as good. I know.
I already have Sandbox, but the Crypt is bigger then Foundry, so the map will be bigger as well. Heck, I'll try.
Well, as mentioned before, it's extremely sloppy. Looking at those two interlocked corner walls in the left side of the first picture, you can see that they're not aligned. In pictures four-five, you can tell that those bridges aren't even lined up, let alone interlocked. In picture seven, the double boxes aren't lined up, which is probably the easiest form of interlocking. In picture eight, you have a very uneven geo-merge. That's really all you need to work on. The layout is actually pretty good, just clean it up for a V2. 2.5/5
Ummm. no. its a unique design and all except it is way to open and sloppy. bases arent very noticeable and the walkways lead to nothing. sorry 2.0 out of 5
I really like the layout. It looks perfect for mlg. With such an amazing layout I'm surprised you didn't take the time to make it clean. This map is so sloppy that it would seriously affect gameplay. Take your time with V2 and maybe add some more cover...
Just like my status says, I'm not a good forger. I'll try to make a clean V2, but it will still have some flaws. Thanks for your feedback on the layout though, appreciate it.
Don't listen to that orange blob kid he flamed my first map too. I think your layout is cool you just need to spend more time lining up your interlocked items. That is by far the most time consuming thing to do so don't get frustrated with it. My map is called Solitude v1 if you wanna check out my thread. It's on Sandbox though.
Too me it looks too messy like here: That bridge is not interlocked, and it is WAY bumpy, it is just really not the best, but if you really need help I can help so just send me a friend Request and I can help you out, its good, just messy like. I like the map idea and some parts looked really good edit: Also I really enjoyed you put the bases in the corners it looks really good, like i said good idea, just messy.
Well you could of spent more time evening it out and makeing it clean and neat but sence not 1/5 for map looks. But you can go to forgeing 101 to prefect your mergeing skills. 1 thing I do like is how it features high elevated combat balanced with ground combat. the floor is a little bland though but that goes with looks and neatness. So for gameplay you get a 3.5/5
I'll get started on a V2 Friday, when I'm done with my tests(huge test week this week, kinda hard to make time to forge)
good start OK dude i think its obvious what you need to do to improve, everyone is giving you advice. I would like to say that I like very much how the bases are in the corners, it brings a new angle to competition, and i also like how the big walkway through the middle is set up, reminiscent of onslought, wall corners, and a mauler etc. With a bit more complexity and neatness in other areas, this could be a very enjoyable map
i think is good but not amazing, you should spend a lot of more time for u map. Fix your interlocking and geo-merging objects i think the layout is good so if everythink is fixed the map will be a good MLG Map. 3/5
Like someone else has mentioned, using wire spools can negitvley effect gameplay in the sense that they can be moved and get in the way. Your map also includes a maze, which is questionable. Then you add a mauler to the maze. That's a pretty self-explanatory problem right there. Mauler camping could never be easer. You need to interlock your bridges. Nades will get stuck in the crevices and often bounce back and hit you instead of your target. Its something to look in to. Keep forgin'
hey dude. overall it looks good. it was a bit sloppy but it makes up for it in the originality. i like that it isn't the same old mlg map that everyone is getting sick of. in my opinion, keep forging.
