At the beginning of Forging and the Halo 3 Campaign back in Sept. 2007, none of us ever thought there would be Foundry or the modern day forging we have today. All we thought to do was put boxes down and use that for a map.

In today's eyes, Forging is just reaching it's peak in excitement. In Sandbox, you are able to have three layers to build in, The Crypt, The "Surface" as I like to call it, and the Sky Bubble as Bungie calls it. In each of these layers they have their goods and their bad(s). Used together although, you can forge a map that would've never been dreamed of back in Last Resort or Sand Trap days.

Let's start with the Crypt. The Crypt is a large open space open and originally made for the RVB favorite game type, Griffball. Although you can turn it into a small FFA map, you have many options with it. The bad thing about the Crypt is that if you place objects down there, it might get crowded although you can still make great maps. In my eyes, Infection, Griffball, and FFA/MLG Slayer is going to go down there.

Now onto the Surface, the surface starts with basic scenery that was made just for the occasion. You have "temples" and lights across the entire map (in the boundaries at least). The Surface also has a new technique that other maps don't, The ability to FIRE THEIR LAZORZ... I mean... giant temples blowing up people who think they're keen enough to leave the map. The Surface can be used for anything from a Racetrack to an Infection game to a VIP game type. What I'm trying to say is,
The Surface is an all-purpose opportunity.

Now onto the Sky Bubble. The Sky Bubble is one of the best parts in the Sand Box addition. You can now literally build onto the sky without the hassle of placing tons of boxes up and deleting them until you get to your box, or holding it up then pressing save and having to restart the game. The Sky Bubble is a VERY LARGE space that is the size of the entire Sand Box level available to all opportunities you can think of! The sky bubble is great for vehicle tracks, mini-games, and can also be used for possible anything you can think of from Infection to Mario (;D).

Now each Sand Box layer (and I think the other maps have this too) is equipped with a Grid. The grid helps you to line the scenery or objects your placing up. As I said, Sand Box is the ultimate forge map with endless possibilities. So look forward to getting your Mythic Map Pack Forgers if you haven't already! I don't know the exact date but Bungie said it would be released soon in Market Place :D!

    Thanks for reading.

Okay first off, what the heck was that.

Dude everyone is impressed with halo3's evoulsions and changes.

Some nonsilly examples are picture effects(like insanity)and the idea of forge but not the concept itself on how it is approached. So we have some odd opinions i guess.

Is this supposed to be a tribute to forging? Is it supposed to be describing how far we've come? Or is it just a description of sandbox? I think most people here already know everything about sandbox, this thread is kinda pointless...
