Sorry to bring this out again. But i got a "D" on my progress report... No clue where it came from, and i'm going to talk to the teacher. It may not be a "epic ****ing paper, 100%" but i mean...come on.
Hmm, that's really strange. It wasn't the best paper, but I feel you got your point across in a pretty formal and mature way. Maybe he/she is just a hard grader.
11th. That's a little to high, and like i said, i don't care if its not an "A" paper, i just thought a 30/50 was a bit low.
D isn't surprising to me lol.. it really wasn't very good. Google tells me 11th grade means youre 16 or 17, if thats right i am surprised you even got a D to be perfectly honest The beginning part was completely irrelevent to the discrimination of gays, the middle part was three examples with nothing but dates as evidence, several times you stated things like "gay hate crimes are rarely reported" with no statistics or references to surveys to back up your claims, the conclusion was pretty much just "if we stop being homophobic then homophobia will end". You could've talked about laws against homosexuality being overturned, gay marches and free love stuff in the 60s, rise of gays in politics and celebrity, homophobia in religion, the illusive (and now found i think) gay gene, etc. You made pretty much no points. Plus it was really short as someone else said.
11th grade? Now it makes more sense. Like Mallet said, for an 11th grade report on discrimination, it's fairly lacking. I'd expect that your teacher told you to write much more than that. Didn't you guys have to write out a citation for your sources?
