Interlocking: You don't need it, but it still serves it purpose. If you interlock too much there can be a lot of Z fighting.

Geomerging: Also not needed as much since the objects are built so nicely, but there are no doors or anything to do easy merging with so you will have to do it with the old school pain in the ass method.

That's good, because I really hate interlocking, and especially geomerging.

However, I think I will only interlock when I want to add some aesthetic appeal.

Exactly. Also, geomerging will not be as necessary as there are many more objects of different sizes to choose from.

interlocking is virtually only useful for creating wall-ramps and fancy shapes now.

Thanks for answering my question, guys.

Good to hear. Now, it will be easier to make maps and there is less limits.

Nyways, this has prolly been discussed already, and doesn't apply to skybubble, but won't merging still be necessary for good, competitive maps, to prevent nades from disaperin under stuff, or has that been fixed?

you can still lose them i guess, but its not as bad. since it was a pretty damn rare occurrence as it was in foundry, and its even less prevalent now, its certainly not necessary.

I don't understand this fixation on losing grenades under non-geomerged boxes. The only way to lose a grenade under a box is to actually aim it there, and there is no reason to do so. If you're losing a grenade under a box that you didn't aim there, then its your own damn fault not the map's, you should aim your nades better.

Interlocking I agree with, because plenty of people want to aim a grenade at the floor to bounce it in someone's face, and without interlocking there's a chance it will fly back at you or sit still. But geomerging? Learn to aim.

Double boxes need to be interlocked together, and the walls of the crypt are very rough and need to be geomerged into. I foresee a lot of people skipping geomerging/interlocking for the first while, but it will become standard once more in a few months.

Tall Boxes also need to be interlocked if the bottom sides (those with the Forge-dot) are facing each other.

OOOOOOH! Sounds good. When do you think we will get a preview of it? Maybe some screens? And when do you think you will have it up for download?

Stupid interlocking. Bungie should have made all the objects have a very slight merge so that we don't have to glitch to get things how we want.
You should be able to make a good map without interloxz.

Probably because if they did that, we'd just geomerge everything all the time.

yes, but if you're making a map, you can just block it off, i believe there's an image of a skybox map where you could jump off but only at your fault, i'd make the floor with boxes so you know before you die that you're dead

they said that because of Halo's engine or physics thing. its impossible to remove the barrier that requires us to interlock
