I'm pretty damn sure it was Hλlf-Life. (The original on PC if you couldn't guess)
Learned by watching my dad play it, and tried helping him with the puzzles while he played.

That's how I got into video games.

    hmmmmzzz

commander keen for pc if i'm remembering correctly... Sonic on sega genesis maybe? i also played a football game with my brother a lot on it. uhhh wow. i'm having serious trouble thinking of this. It was either a 90s pc game or something on sega genesis, i know that much. **** there was also a snes in my house at one point before the genesis, i dont recall playing anything on it. First playstation game was either crash bandicoot or spyro. First n64 game was probably mario kart.

To be honest i've been playing video games for as long as i can remember.

The very first game I ever played had to have been Diddy Kong Racing. I was only like 4 or 5 at the time so you can imagine that would be the type of video game for a somebody that age.

I haven't played it recently, but I do remember going back on it like 2 years ago after I started enjoying Conker: Live & Reloaded. I had just realized that Conker was in Diddy Kong Racing so I was excited, but to my disappointment Conker failed hard and was always smiling. No alcoholic squirrel here! It was still fun though having the characteristics of Mario Kart, and the characteristics of an adventure game. I still haven't unlocked that chicken however.. I don't know why I didn't ever get around to that!

I would have to say though that the first game I ever played that I actually enjoyed was when I was 6 and playing The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and I think that might still be my favorite Zelda game of all time, concluding that Majora's Mask had a crappy saving system, and Twilight Princess just all out sucked. I loved all the masks in Majora's Mask, and still haven't actually finished any Zelda game but Ocarina of Time.

My parents introduced me to Conker's Bad Fur Day when I was only 7. What the hell!?

Oh yeah, that one was fun and all because it had some new graphics and it was based all on adventure. But it just didn't have what the others had. I enjoyed backtracking and trading masks in, going on side-quests. I don't even remember what the final boss fight in Windwaker was like.

You know what sequel game I loved that came out on the Gamecube though? StarFox Adventures, just because it introduced an entirely new way to play StarFox games. But when the next StarFox game came out for the Gamecube, I was quite disappointed. I beat StarFox: Assault in 3 hours...

But you know what really amazes me? The fact that I can go back and play the games I used to adore, such as Ocarina of Time, and still find things out that I never knew before. Like that Majora makes an appearance in Ocarina of Time. Or that there is a multiplayer mode in Conker's Bad Fur Day.

I wish that games nowadays actually took time to beat. I don't think that any game I have now on my Xbox has a Campaign that would last longer then 2 days worth of gameplay. Even BioShock, one of my favorite single-player video games lasted me 2 days.

I just wish that games had more in them, like they used to! Super Mario 64 took me such a long time, especially when somebody was secretly deleting my profiles. I still haven't beat that game...
Reading that, I felt like. Who the hell is Syro!? It's Spyro you fool! The flying dragon dude!

Fiendish Freddy's Big Top o' Fun on the Commodore 64. What a way to start gaming. That game was brutal!

Also around the same time was Outrun and Frogger. I'm pretty sure I played Fiendish Freddy first though.

I think it was Sonic on the Sega Genesis. Five Minutes later I played Mortal Kombat, same system, stuck with it. Unreal Tournament was next. I was about 6 or 7.

I got my first video game when I was 5, in 1998.
    An N64.
Can't remember exactly what game came with it, because my dad travelled all the time to the US (we lived in Brazil at the time), and he kept buying me new games.
I know that the Mario's were one of the first ones, if not, the first one.

Wait, wait, now that I think about it, I know what game it was.
It was a horrible tetris like game (for the 64), and it was in a sort of ball shape.
Just googled it, here it is:

Well, my first system was SNES, and I believe I had Paperboy, the original LOZ, and a batman game. Believe it or not, I got it from my uncle when I was 5, but everyone else had N64s. I got one a year later.
