I am currently in the process of starting a small competitive league for Halo 3. However, I do not have NEAR enough people or ANY "good" maps. If there's anyone out there interested in a competitive league for fun and competition, or would like to submit a map for possible use in the league. Please post a reply, send me a message, or find me online (GT: NXGizLegendary). My goal is to start with just a singles ladder of about 20. Followed by about 10 teams of 4. With about 5 good maps for both. Wish me luck. EDIT: Added NXG to the "Social Groups" feature on ForgeHub. Can view our group page at http://www.forgehub.com/forum/groups/nxg.html
I have "applied", if you can say that. Some people say I'm good, but I think it's just luck. I know how to have a good time though.
So is this a tournament or just a league? cause customs might already of something like this. otherwise the only real "league" i can think of is MLG. if your just doing normal team slayer and what not just stick to match making, much easier to organize.
MM is pretty stupid sometimes. Customs tend to have less BS going on. Also, MM wouldn't work because you couldn't choose your opponents unless you did the language trick. I don't think you really get what he is trying to do. BTW, if we submit a map, do we have to be the creators, because I have a ton of exceptional maps that I've downloaded. Also, what gametypes would be used?
It is a "league". We'll be competing in customs against each other (potentially for rewards). It's MLG-esque, but it's more community based, I think more skill based, and the gametypes are more creative and original. Also, I'd REALLY prefer the maps be made my the person submitting them, otherwise it may cause "ownership" issues.
Do we really need permission? As long as we say the maps aren't ours and give credit to the original makers, things should be fine. That's what the maps are for, to be used.
If we don't get permission there could be issues (I may have to make a few edits for gametype availability and the game will call it mine) so yes, I would say we'd need AT LEAST their permission.
