No one knows, but I remember reading a mention of it in the first IGN Mythic Map Pack interview with Lars Bakken. He said that the first time you go into Forge on Sandbox, you will notice that the budget is $510. So, that's with all default objects placed. I guess you can give a rough estimate on what the total budget will be based on the starting budget.
I've got it! The epicness that is, Peasant Hunt. Imagine, falling through the plug hole down all the way to the crypt. Then another sprawling maze across the Crypt floor. Ahh the mindless madness of it all, with the peasants scurrying themselves about a huge maze.
How about three zombie maps on one map. For example a maze in the crypt where at the end there's a teleporter to the main floor where i dunno you have to get to another teleporter which takes you up to the skybox where there is a base you can make a final stand in. On the middle level there are cars to drive you to the teleporter (with an obstacle in the middle, maybe a jump) and the zombies could drive as well. Maybe not that might too many things.
I just did some math to figure out this whole budget thing. I found out that we would run out of a 900$ budget at 180 5$ items. That's less than 1/3rd of maximum item limit, so these guesses of 700, 800 or 900$ budgets are ridiculous. In order to reach the item limit of 640 items using only 5$ items means the budget would be 3200$, which is also ridiculous. So either the OLN is lower than the 640 that was stated or the budget is ridiculously high.
Then im guessing there is a huge budget. $3200 though that is HUGE. That means there are a load of objects already on the map or IGN was lying. Maybe they are talking about people who use money glitches.
I'm already making LC2 on sandbox...but the fall from the crypt hole is a bit too...long...for a game.
I would never attempt putting relic in the sky, that would be a waste of resources. Your more than welcome to make a grifball court in the sky, as long as it's bump free. It would create new tactics though and provide for more interesting gameplay. Well, that's the thing. I could geo-merge part of the base into the sand dunes, it just depends how far back you can go before hitting those deathbeams.
You're forgetting completely about weapons, spawn points, spawn areas, and objective points. They claimed the budget was around $575 after the default layout had been created. So if you can break apart that default picture into its basic componants, it'll give you a pretty close figure to what the budget is.
You haven't taken weapons into account. Those only cost $2 each. Don't forget about grenades or vehicles either. I'd say we'll have around $1200 total budget if all items are deleted from the map.
We may get 1200, but then you neverknow. It's a good estimate, and since basically everything went down in price, it seems logical. Oh, look who is lURKing...
Man, urk doesn't have much to say, but when he does say something, it's fantastic. This is pretty great news. Do you have any info on just how many objects are on the default map?
Unlike Sarge, I've always loved you <3 Anyway, I can see now how we would have a problem hitting the OLN before we hit the Budget Limit.
Im not sure if i want to keep he default items, what with all the random objects that it will have, weapons, spawns. I need the big ones, then smaller ones to add detail. I wont mind if you can get all the bigger objects as well in that 510. I will have to see if its worth it
