Based on the X-play video the tunnel to the crypt looks rather long. Sad Face. It's going to be hard to connect the diffrent layers together.

I don't know this has already been mentioned/discussed, but I just thought of something relating to the whole 3 canvases idea that's been going around (1 canvas on each of the crypt/outside/sky bubble levels, each with all the default objects stacked on that level to maintain their place in the OLN)

I'm working on the assumption of a non-glitched canvas, partly because I've been going the non-glitched way anyway, but mainly in light of the B.net update about generally hitting the OLN way before reaching the budget.

I personally think that one of the best things about non-glitched builds is being able to delete stuff, I find it liberating after ages of using glitched canvases, it keeps your build tidier and makes it a lot less time consuming. So if I'm not gonna be glitching on Sandbox anyway, I want to be able to delete stuff.

But what Lars said about the OLN is the default objects are embedded into the OLN whether you delete them or not, so the last thing you want to do is delete any of the default layout objects. Thus you don't want to use them in your map until you have to, so the idea of placing them on each level of the map for use on different builds is kinda meaningnless. Since you don't want to use them unless you have to, you might as well just stack them on the middle level and go through when you need to grab one. Possibly one with them all the in sky bubble would be useful, for when you want to build on the middle level itself and want it nice and clear, but I can't really see the point in doing 3 now. I guess it saves me a bit of effort... :p

    daaaamn...

those vids....show how huge sandbox is...

the crypt is easily the size of Foundry, without that pesky asymmetric slanted wall...without the crane...and 6x the height (estimate)

    skybox...oh dear

    space is no longer a concern...the budget...is.

We've basically been trained for the OLN because of the budget glitch, so its not really much of a hassle. There is more than enough room in the sky bubble, that area is huge! I'll be throwing all of the normal objects up there.

    Already waaaaay ahead of you.

My design for foundry made it 2 levels which equated to twice the size...but I ran into a few issues regarding measurement (perfectionism :/) so I never finished it.

    Sandbox though....

randomization, multitiers (same design = 4 levels I'm guessing), and potential simple-switches

I just checked out your Lost Chambers map, and wow, it's so perfect for the Crypt!

I can't wait to see your Lost Chambers 2 map.. if you make it.

I'm not making it in the crypt...skybox for me. The crypt...although large, is not big enough for what I want to do (at least not from what I can tell, I'll haveta see)

I'd leave switches out. Don't over complicate a fun and easy system. I'd stick with two levels personally. Then the floor is thin enough for the Minotaur (Mummy?) to kill from above or below.

    It really depends.

Chronnie has an unreleased map that was epic with switches.

Wasnt gonna put em everywhere, just a few spots.

The four level thing MAY get done but I doubt it, may opt for an older design that TDF called "chutes and ladders" but I'm unsure. I've multiple designs for the map, it all just really depends on what the objects look like.

Dang.. but I still think the "chute" down to the Crypt would be perfect, but you'll have more than enough room to make one in the Sky Bubble.

I still can't wait to see it. :p

It could be, but...it would take too long for them to fall (i mean its a 1-2 man chute) so the mino would have an advantage and could rush to them, unless I spawned him at a specific part...oh well...like i said...multiple designs.

anyone else gonna make a map in the middle, with the chute to teh crypt kind looking like it is supposed to be hidden, so every one testing your map, who's curiosity gets the best of them, will go down the chute, only to find a killball at the opening into the crypt. muahahaha

Not if it is multileveled, the crypt is easily 5 doubleboxes high, and no need to block the sides off.

That chute would take forever for players to fall down from... I mean its really long... and then you have to fall the distance to the floor... I wouldn't even bother with it.

Sarge, you need to give the Zombie a golf club, mmk?

would the people go fast enough down the chute if you merged/put mancannons facing down at intervals down the chute??

(infraction) someone pleez go to my lonely little thread on halo discussion about original infection idea's. its all alone.

The players don't have to start all the way at the top. You can place the spawns like 3/4 of the way down

But then again, it's still kind of a long drop even from there. I'm sure that however Sarge makes #2, it will be amazing. :p
