small map, Jugding by the last picture, the spikers looks bigger then average, most likly because its that small. Edit: Biggest, Quote, Ever... of all time.
I'm surprised this stuff hasn't been posted here yet.. HBO and IGN have posted the Previews of the Mythic Maps: IGN: Halo 3 Preview Halo 3 Mythic Map Pack - an Early Look Both previews showcase interesting videos of each map. Be sure to check out the Sandbox Forge Gameplay on IGN. Just look at the size of the Sky Bubble!! Oh, and it's confirmed that the Sky Bubble is approx. 3 times the size of the Ground Level, and the Golf Club is just a re-skinned Gravity Hammer. Orbital also looks really fun based on the videos. I know it will be fun for Objective games. And Assembly definitely looks like a good Arena-style map, and it should keep competitive players satisfied.
After watching some action vids on these maps, i have to say that im highly interested in them now. I think they could be some of the better maps Halo 3 has to offer actually... and I like alot of maps that we already have. Orbital still plagues me with its setup. I Dont fully understand it yet.

I myself have a couple Machinima and map ideas for Orbital. Im abit blank on Assembly though. From those videos, I wonder what we are going to get for forge objects on these 2.
I was wondering about that too. I wonder if Orbital/Assembly will get Kill Balls and Golf equipment as well...
I watched the video of The Crypt. That tunnel is too long for my idea of "Escape the Crypt" to work without teleporters. And I'm sure there will be lots of "Escape into the Crypt" maps too, where the noob designer gave the humans infinite ammo and a big pile of power weapons and the zombies 10% damage resistance and no shields. The noobs will adore the fact that there is only one entrance to the Crypt... EDIT: Oh ****! Wrong thread! Never done that before... Oh well. Better say something about orbital/assembly to make my post not spam: I'm disappointed that the escalators don't work on Orbital. Watch the vids with headphones on, they sound well weird!
I saw something that looks like an elevator. Two guys walked in and just stood there. I doubt that it is, but I hope it is. I have yet to distinguish the "2 overlapping U's" that they've been talking about.
i too was disappointed the escalators doesnt even move, but they still look sweet. my favorite area of the map thus far.
ya there are some videos on youtube hat show orbital and sandbox game play. but the sandbox video is them playing griffball.
i saw some gameplay videos on xplay today. assembly was looking reel sick, i thought the scarab being put together above you was neat. and orbital looks like my kind of map: small with lots of hallways. i might have to make my first mythic forge creation on orbital, depending on what objects it has.
So okay hang on. What the **** is it with sandbox? Is it a normal outside level like it was when it was first shown or is it the new "lower" level as shown in the second one..??
First of all, this thread is for discussion of Orbital and Assembly. Second of all, it's both along with the third which is the sky bubble. Do some research. Now on topic, I really liked seeing the scarab creation in the X-play video. But I'm most interested in Orbital because...I don't really know that much about it yet.
the bungie-made map that would be in matching (the default sandbox i guess) is a normal outdoor level. in forge, you can delete this brick thing that has a hole underneath that leads to the lower "crypt" level. although this is the orbital/assembly discussion thread. ah someone beat me to it. and yes, i am really looking forward to finding out exactly what orbital. now that ive seen some videos of assembly and know thats its kind of like halo: ce's derelict, i know its gonna be a sick map. but orbital is more of a mystery, im sure i'll like it though.

i cant wait for orbital, assembly is ok, just not that great looking to me. then again, im more of a open environment sort of guy, not small, enclosed areas like guardian and assembly. oddly enough, i think orbital might make a good infection map. if you use forge to block off some areas and create barriers, it could be promising. i think thats what ill do with orbital, ill make it into a zombie map. anyone wanna help?
Does anybody know what kind of immovable objects we will be given on Orbital, and what type of objects we will have to merge with? I had an idea or two, but there both pretty much dead if we don't have any boxes or anything. The only reason I ask is because Orbital is very closed in, and there didn't seem to be enough room to constitute a full double box or something similar.
