great. this will really help me with making my maps smooth. And also i am having a bit of trouble with some of my geo merging. This will help me alot. thanks.
hey guys thanks for posting this thread this really helping me come thru. I've made many great map because of this thanks a lot!!!!!
I want to create a bridge between two single boxes so that the ends of the bridge are interlocked with the boxes. I want the bridge to be the same height as the boxes too. How do I achieve this? (what can I sit the bridge on so it is the same height as the two boxes?)
Difficult if you dont know how, but easily achievable. There are many ways. Its all on what you prefer. To be clear, you basically just want the bridge sticking out of the box? 1. Alright one way to do this is to stack stuff. Get the boxes where you want them and all, and now use stuff like walls to stack up to the boxes height. And then put the bridge onto the stack and shove it against the box. Set the box not to spawn, and start a new round. Now move the bridge slightly over into where the box will spawn, and it will be interlocked. To be more exact, its good to have put an indicator on the box first, so you know where to pull the bridge up to. Then delete what is underneath. 2. You could also have just laid a bridge on the box and then save it there, then go back, set the box not to spawn and then hold a bridge under the original bridge. This will put a new bridge exactly level with the box, and you dont need to sack anything.
thats what i was thinking too would be the best way good post with the having bridge on top and making boxes on no respawn then holding bridge under neath other bridge and save changes and restart map :
That was my original idea but I couldn't find the right recipe to make the bridges flush with the top of the boxes. Here's a brief picture of what I'm attempting: Click for pic
haha man I just stopped by this post to check it out and you have my spawn point alignment tip on here. Thanks dude I know there are some people who are already aware of this tip but for those who were not aware it makes interlocking so much easier. Anyways, thanks again for the credit I hope it helps people make some sweet interlocking and I would love any feedback anyone has on the effectiveness of this method. -Ace
Great thread. It has helped me so very much in improving my map (House of Horror which sucked hard the first time) and has helped me invent a few other techniques for interlocking. (Such as if you want a wall to go into an open box but not all the way through, put a few receiver nodes inside the box also so the wall does not go too far [but I'm sure yall already knew that])
Can you describe this a little more, such as what you mean by levitating the support. Thats the only part I dont get. I do the first method, and that never works for me
Thats all very usefull and.. I'm not sure if this goes along with the topic but I'm trying to make an underground map on foundry and I have most of the platfourm down there but I cant get respawns to work. I got one down there and save the game and all that stuff but when I loaded it I cant spawn there, The respawn looks like its gone and it says that I still have 2 on the map. Can anyone help? In a post or on live please, GT: Rabize (Same as username..) If this doesnt belong here I'm sorry, I'm new and havent been on many chat wedsites.
one, did you even read the post. this is a tutorial not a map. two, to ask a question, PM or VM a moderator. three, to answer your question. It is post count, more posts, higher rank four, you can't post twice in a row, it is against the rules.
