Okay, so I just watched a show called flashpoint and the episode was about a rogue sniper who was hiding in a city square in buildings. He would kill a cop and then move around to a different building before he fired again. In the end the cops killed him. So, I'm gonna make a map. I have a mockup I made in foundry designer... but im not gonna post the pic of it cause I always just use things I'd understand... so, I'm asking you, the hubbers, to make some mockups of the map. If I like one, I'll make the map on my own, and give you 50% of the credit... I'm going to proceed and make my mockup in Halo 3 and then I'll make a "First Look" thread. Thanks! -stickmanmeyhem
Reverse duck hunt? Ducks all in a small enclosed area with magnums, and the sniper on the other end of Foundry with loads of cover so the ducks don't know where he is. One headshot on the sniper by a duck gets a kill, and its standard 2 body or 1 headshot for the sniper to get a kill. Could be fun. Doesn't sound exactly like what you're looking for, and I'm not even sure if it or something similar has been done yet, but that would be a sick sniper vs a crowd game.
How about you have a Gridlocked style design in the foundry "rectangle." You would have a double box standing straight up and then a single box standing-height floating above it. Have about 6 - 10 of these but make sure the sniper cant get out of the "room." Connect the rooms with teleporters. On the lower area (the street) you have the cops running around while the sniper goes from building to building to get a certain vantage point to kill them. Hmm... I'll have to think of a way for the cops to kill the sniper so it can be fair... Hell, I might even make this
I was thinking I make like 4 or 5 basic structures in the foundry rectangle. The sniper has good invisibility, the crowd is all in black. This way the crowd WILL be living in fear... They have to follow the tracers on the sniper bullets to the snipers location and it just takes one shot from any gun to kill the sniper... the invisibility gives him too much of an edge... Anyway, lots of buildings, a cop base, Infection with only one life. yea, sounds fun! EDIT: DIBS!
Theoretically he would spawn in the buildings and run from building to building sniping people on the ground. The only problem with this is once the humans new were the zombie was, it would be way to easy for them to kill him.
That's why It's an interesting game... EDIT: The sniper would spawn in a building and he has to get on the ground to get into any other buildings...
See, I was thinking that when I was giving my "mock-up" but if the sniper could get into other buildings then that means the cops can get into the buildings, too. For my idea, this would be a bad thing.
If the cops can get into the building, what is stopping the cops from just running around looking for the sniper? They don't have to stay in the courtyard and be shot at after all... I really don't think your idea could work if the cops can get out of the courtyard.
all sniper rounds leave a trail, they're not really tracers, but they work the same way... Reply to ladnil: the sniper has to take the shot and run, the cops are supposed to get in the buildings... the sniper will have to pick them off as he can... It'll be a tough game to win if you're the sniper... EDIT: I've finished my first version of the map, tomorrow I'll make a First Look: Flashpoint thread. Thanks! -stickmanmeyhem
You could set it up so that the victims have 300% damages (Not instant kill since it'd be too unfair) and the victims couldn't enter the buildings and stay in the courtyard in the middle surrounded by windows and rooftops for the Sniper to shoot from. One way to play this would be that once the Sniper had taken the shot it'd be up to them to find him and in a way use teamwork to shoot him down? the victims could be "guards" armed with BR's or something which would be around 1 or 2 hits with a BR regarding the 300% damage. That would be fun, get building before i do!
