    ^ Keep up.

The object is a scaffolding piece, which is present in Ghost Town and has been included in many images so far.

To comment on your switch thing Bungie did that so that Sandbox wasn't the only thing people are forging like they said in the update foundry and sandbox both have strenghths.

and the walls are straight? (up until a certain point)

You guys have to stop whining about these crocked walls. Judging by the pictures, they don't start slanting until 4 or 5 box-heights, about the size of foundry's top.

    ---
Also I was thinking about making an ULTIMATE bungie jumping map (like sandtrap, but multi-tiered! I would save-and-quit a wall at the very top of the sky bubble, have them jump off, into a tele resting at the bottom of the sky bubble, then have the reciver at the very top of the middle layer, which would be placed directly above the hole to the crypt. Then at the very bottom of the crypt, would be a tele back up to the top of the skybubble. DIBS!

Sooo. What we have so far is...

    The underground, tomb like area.

    The ground level and dunes.

    and then the "sky bubble"

I going to guess the most popular is going to be the "sky bubble" but I'm wondering...
Which of these are you guys planning on building on first?

From the pictures, it looks like it begins to slant at about 2 boxes high, not 4 or 5.

I think my map will benefit most from the skybubble though it depends on objects and space

That all depends on what people are planning on building. Mlg forgers will probably be building in the crypt as well as a lot of competitive forgers. A lot of people will also like building in the sky-bubble, but I don't see many good first maps, simply because the floating maps I have seen just aren't that amazing.

Sandbox's middle tier will probably be neglected for a little while, simply because competitive map builders will have to frame maps that are open-aired. It's a harder atmosphere to build in, I think.

One thing's for sure though, we'll be seeing an avalanche of maps cascade into these forums and I hope the staff will be on top of things and make a whole new subforum for the mythic map pack.

The skybubble definitely. I want to make some sort of jump or platform thing. Not very original but what the hell.

I'm actually interested in the ground level. Epic squad battle map coming soon. I've got it planned out.

Now, it is much more easier to create one. We have way more options.

I'm planning on making two huge, i'm talking HUGE, Pyramids for ctf, and you need hornets to get to the other pyramid because there will be a KillBall pit between them, and i'll also put a bunch of little floating buildings in the sky around the pyramids. People will use long range weapons like, sniper and beam rifles, battle rifles, carbines, lasers and rockets, and most likely some machine gun turrets to mount in th hangar. Yes i'll have a hangar to land about 10 flying vehicles ( 10 flying vehicles is just saying how big it will be) i will also have mongeese and maybe warthogs for transport, there will be a big border around the killball pit that vehicles can drive across to the other pyramid. This is mainly a flight battle with 8 hornets 4 transport, 4 battle, and 4 banshees, 2 of each in each base.

This will, of course, be an 8 on 8 gametype.

This will all be on the default ground level of sandbox.

Also maybe another good idea is to make a skyscraper with a very big elevator and just other stuff, and make it into infection map with 10 different stories in it.

I dunno. If people are in a rush, this avalanche of maps is gonna be pretty poor quality. There are so many objects to use in these maps it really should take longer to make. Itll be a sad sight if we see alot on non interlocked maps that have been made in a few hours. A really do think that people will need to up their forging abilities and make more than an average map to make a popular map on sandbox

My first few maps will utilize all three levels and maximize the Benefits of each section...

Okay so based on what we know about the size of the main floor and hopefully the size of each blue grid square has any figured out the relative size of the crypt in relation to foundry?

Also the angled ceiling will only be a problem if you go higher than five levels from looking at the pics.

I'm not sure interlocking will be necesary though, we'll see. It won't hurt to have it and many designs will require it, but with the pictures I've seen, bungie has made some interesting layouts without the use of interlocking.

But, to get to your more important point. There will be a cascade of maps interlocked or not. There is still poor quality in foundry maps today. They have slowed to a trickle now, but they still come day in and day out.

I really think superior map design and gameplay will shine out among maps that are heavily interlocked.

Very ambitious aren't you... There's only 4 banshees 2 transport hornets and 2 regular. And if you want to make a killball pit you're going to have to make it out of 4 killballs.

Oh and is it really necessary to have those massive pictures? And then you guys keep quoting the pictures over and over.

Well i think that interlocking shouldnt be used for the sole purpose of making a map look pretty. I use it in a practical sense, to merge shapes together to make a whole new shape.
