Damnit. I currently have 90 custom content that I won't delete on my Xbox. Unless they somehow increase the space to 200 custom content spaces, I'm going to have to do an insane cleanout of my hard drive. Maybe it will be easier once I see how amazing the Sandbox maps are compared to Foundry maps.
I know, I was going to mention those but then I reminisced a little from the first impression of Halo: CE's Pillar of Autumn. Orbital wont come close to that.. I bet you can say that yourself.. Who else wasn't impressed by the sheer size of PoA.. well before it crashed and suscumploded everywhere..
I agree. Assembly will shed some light. Possibly Heretic and Citadel? Lets jump Shishka tomorrow for some information.. =)
Does anyone else remember the awsomeness that was headlong, ??? that map was great!!! just imagine, hanging platform/beam + forging. awsomeness
For the above two posts, this thread is about Sandbox so please stay on topic. Unless you are hoping for a hanging platform on Sandbox, then yes, I agree. Anyways... it is less then a month that Sandbox comes out and I can just tell that a lot of maps are going to come out like a few days after the 3rd. I'd just like to remind everybody who gets HWLE that we have like 2 or 3 weeks head start on making a map then everybody else, and that you should use that time wisely. I'm thinking of making either a competitive or a casual map... but I haven't decided yet. I might make a floating map but who knows. So far the only maps we have made floating are on Blackout and Avalanche, plus on those maps we didn't have this neat ground floor so we had to keep using the save/quit technique. I think that floating maps will surely improve due to not having to color code to. Imagine the kickass bridges we can make with the newly added Ghost Town objects! Think of the things you can make withought having to Save and Quit! Omg! I know I said this before, but imagine all the maps that will be coming out! I foresee many Lockout remakes, jumping maps, and Ascension remakes. Wouldn't it be cool to somehow hide some super jumps on a Ascension remake? But anybody think of the epic space battles? Wouldn't it kinda get annoying running into a death barrier if you went to far downward though? Tis is not spam, these are my thoughts and ideas that I just had to throw out on tis forum.
Excuse me kind sir, but you forgot to add "*Sarcasm*" to your post. Please if you will, go back and edit your post so it says so. Thanks and have a great day! Lulz! I say this because after going back and reading what I was thinking at the time, it sounds stupid, and obvious. I don't know what I was thinking 5 minutes ago, and I don't want to know. All I know is that Public Servant had better make a pretty impressive Transfusion or the Forge Gods will be angry.
What articles? I haven't heard anything about the next 3 maps of the Mythic Map pack. The only thing I've heard about is on Halopedia but there's not much info on there.
there are articles about when some MLG guys had the opportunity to play a couple of them a while back.. like maybe 3 months ago or so.. i read them at the MLG Halo forums (not the forge forum though)
I look forward to the new things within sandbox, most definitely. I have many ideas for new and interesting gametypes (like Manifest) that I think will be possible with the item size of Sandbox. I wouldn't mind doing future Manifest maps on it, but sadly the Rocky Ruin item set wouldn't fit it at all.
I don't trust that article, I mean, as if they would ask louis wu, some pros, and this random dude to come to bungie to test out the maps...
I can finally do an unglitched version of my zombie map... finally...god I hate the budget glitch... yusssssssss
I think the thing most of you seem to be forgetting is the dynamic lighting objects. The SkyBubble seems to be pretty damn dark, and the fact that Bungie is giving us a means by which we can LIGHT our maps is a pretty damn big deal. Interrobang sucked for two reasons: the limited space outside Blackout forced me to create a map with a vertical flow pattern, and the map was simply too dark for its own good. Now that Sandbox has given me free space in the Bubble and lighting objects, I SHALL BE UNSTOPPABLE!!! I can finally make my concept maps as I wished them to be rather than having to adapt my designs to the limitations of Foundry or Blackout. What does this mean? Rocketry 101, Scrape, and a bunch of other floating concepts I had envisioned have been given new life. Plus, the semi-solid floor means that I no longer have to save-quit place objects (well, not all of them anyway) and the grid means that teardrop merging/interlocking will only have to be used when necessary since I can now align things to perfection rather than having to rely on manipulations of items' freshly spawned state. Thank you so much, Bungie GODS!!!
since when did Interrobang suck. That is one of my all time favorite maps. If you have ever played it the fuel rod cannon and bright projectiles light up the map and give it that dynamic feel. Also It said that you could connect objects which leads me to believe that you can snap objects together at the same level at the grid. Even if I am going to make the largest most complicate aysymetrical floating map ever.
