Urk is still here. He's just watching and waiting. In other words, being Urk.

Anyway... You guys think there is a kind of death barrier, or a fall timer that killes you when you fall out of the sky bubble?

I'm guessing you'll die once you hit the blue grid. Or there may be an invisible "kill barrier" lower than the grid, so you have more time to fall, but no one knows.

    I really don't care because I know you'll die either way. ;)

You will die either way, but it seems to make more sense if you die after you hit the blue barrier. you can go below the floor on maps that have abysses on them without dying; im sure the same concept is used with the blue grid. you can go a bit below it, but not too far before you die.

if it was a kill timer, it would be too easy 2 break teh map, and build maps in-between, because if you had solid map to walk on, the fall timer wouldn't work.

If its a fall timer like campaign you would be able to jump down small bits at a time. You could have a set of "Stairs" that would take you from the Sky Bubble all the way down, or a little bit of the way down. Either way you would have alot more room for your floating maps.

    o/ Win.

I hope there is a really high ceiling because I've always wanted to make a water slide. Not one that you need a vehicle for either. Just go down first person as a spartan.

like you said in my topic tho; it may be such a long distance that it would almost be impossible to do something like that; that is, if its a kill timer at all. If its just a death barrier, you're just plain screwed. lol.

Not impossible. You just have to space out the jumps every so often so you can jump down a long way then land before you die. To get back up you could have gravlifts, mancannons, and a teleporter system. It was just an idea anyway.

though it would be hard. i think it would be possible to make a distortion type map on sandbox with a 3-way pivot, though it would probably be very hard to find the angle

Hmm, seems my paratroopers map is going to wait until Sandbox is released.

You know what would be a *****? If it was divided in half by the skybubble death barrier, and you had to get past the barrier with teleporters.

If you people were actually reading it, it is a static death barrier, somewhere below the blue grid of the Sky Bubble (not a skybox, get it right people!). The blue grid acts as a "second floor" which allows you to place objects down in the air.

You guys honestly didn't think Bungie did the Save and Quit technique that many times....did you?

I like the teleporter system idea. I think i have a way of having that work, without any grav lifts or mancannons. Perhaps its a dumb idea tho on my part lol. but it might be difficult to distance the jumps right; like that old map on sandtrap where it had the staircase that was almost impossible to climb to the top to avoid the zombies (if you know what im talking about)

you can set **** on it, but in actual gameplay people cant just stand on it, items just float on it for the sake of forging.

Well the static barrier thing ends my ideas of adding the two together. But what you said about the blue grid in the Sky Bubble didn't make much since. Yes, it seems you can place objects on it just like a floor, but you can also fall through it and objects can fall through if the object is movable.

    Judging by this screenshot:

I'm sure it will be higher than Foundry. Idk though.

I'm sure everyone got that, but that's not we're discussing about. We are just thinking of where the the death barrier actually is. We already know you can place things on the grid. It's like common sense.

That is what I just said....

Well, I didn't mean it like it was literally a second floor, it only acts like one for objects, players and vehicles can pass right through it though, resulting in death and destruction....and maybe even a splatter from the grave if the warthog happens to land on anyone at the bottom....
