The sequel will take place several years after the zombie invasion of Willamette. The original virus escaped containment and has now spread throughout the entire country. Players will now have to combat tens of thousands of zombies and explore the new "gambling paradise" of Fortune City. The designers also promise that there will be lots of new objects you can use to kill the zombies. We're guessing bludgeoning them to death with slot machines or shooting them with slices of $5.99 prime rib are going to be high on the list.

as long as the retarded controls are reworked
its the whole reason why capcom games never reach their full potential

Yeah, the controls didn't really help the game. I also hope they fix a lot of the glitches. One of the most annoying ones was when i would kill the 3 guys driving the jeep in the courtyard, but after a while, they would just respawn.

All of the info was released today, hence "February 9, 2009".

    OMG DEAD RISING 2!!!!!!

I loved the original dead rising, even if the cutscenes sucked. I am actually glad that it's coming out on the PS3. My friend kept coming round my house just to play DR. He refused to buy a 360, even for Halo and Gears...

I always love a good zombie game and Dead Rising was a very very fun game. Running on top of zombie crowds using the lawn mower on a zombie horde. Don't forget the psycho survivors. I hope Dead Rising 2 brings back fond memories of the original. Dead Rising two pics look good. I am anticipating this release. Hope it lives up to Dead Rising.

If Dead Rising 2 has some sort of "unlimited time, no health degeneration bullshit, run around slaying all the zombies you wish"-mode, I'll think about investing.

The first one was amazing IMO. Yeah it had its problems, but once you got passed them, it was a home run. Wish i hadn't sold the first, i would be playing it now.

    Never played the first because...

    1. Didn't own an 360 for quite some time after that.
    2. I don't even think I was allowed to play it around that time.

Thats to bad, i remember getting the game with my friend, and we pulled an all nighter playing it. And, another time, my cousin and i did the same, but it took us 2 nights to complete. God that game made me tired.

Oh sweet, one of my favorite original games is going to have its sequel.
This game never got boring for me once I got my level 50.
The first one was just so original and had pure fun every time at start.
Hopefully for the second they will have all the greatness of the first game plus more.
I would love to see some type of online implemented into Dead Rising 2.

    CO-OP maybe?

I posted something about The confirmation of DR2 at 08-20-2008 , for awhile I would search youtube, google, capcom to find any trace, I felt like I was trying to uncover who shot JFk, after months all I could find was the setting.

I was and still am a big fam for Dead rising, its one of the reasons why I love capcom, heck, its the reason I bought an XBOX360. I played endlessly, Because of dead riseing i found Digitalph33r, because of dead riseing I found Cloud8745, an amazing game reviewer and great Walkthroughs.

I've completed it many times and my first proper memories of gaming was from dead rising, especially the first fight with Carlito, gunshop boss (sorry I forgot his name) and more...

I'm currently level 49 and a half, saving the 50 for a special day. I own the mega blaster, acquired with the 53, 573 kills, hours on end, was it worth it? HELL YE!

Dead rising will always be part of my childhood but not memories, the interesting story, optional bosses, countless weapons and zombies, how could you go wrong? and to the ones that feel the controls suck, well stfu, a great game.

Like I said, I posted something awhile ago about the DR2 confirmation.

To tell you the truth, you can ask boydy if you feel, I cannot stop talking bout DR2, even before it was confirmed. Some friends would say "Have you played GOW? I can't wait for number 2, it looks amazing" and there I was with DR 2?.

Something i have said countless times, over and over is, CO-OP, Left 4 dead filled that void for a while but with me mastering it I feel I need to take steps back to a classic. with my experience with the first i will be ordering this game and getting a Limited Edition if offered. A co-op that used a jump in and out system such as L4D would be maleficent, Combined with the dead rising infamous Story, twist, side quests and bosses and you have more than a game.

Hope you read that, sorry if i mumbled on abit but there is no words to describe how much i love the game, and hopefully the series, no words to describe how much me and its been through, I know a lot of you are probily saying "its a game!" Well this game helped me get through hard times, it entertained and inspired my love for zombie horrors.

Just to side track, but when I saw the trailer, I would watch it over and over, Its one of the thew games my dad saw and said "Wow" the audio to a lot of trailers was Down with the sickness - Disturbed, So if I never took an interest in it than i would of never of found out about a great band.

Thank you Dead rising, bring on Dead rising 2!

My mom took away Dead Rising from me because my dad didnt let me buy it for Partial Nudity. I had my sister buy it and I was dumb and told my dad. He told me to ask my mom first. I didnt. I could've had it if I asked my mom.

    The hell?

Anyway, if anyone wants to get DR1 back, they sell copies for about £10 now. People assume it's a **** game and really it is (especially the AI of the yellow raincoat guys and the SWAT teams), but let them assume at their own cost. Buy it back.

I hope this version has an online, too. The original DR just had a scoreboard for who survived the longest in infinite mode. The leader laster 9 days. Sadact.

Also, what endings did you guys get for DR1?

OMG this game was so much fun. Just killing zombies was my favorite, and all the skills you could learn. I think I just killed people and didn't level up.
