Guys, just stop asking Urk all of these questions. You all will find out about it sooner or later. It would be better a surprise right? You all have basically ask the same questions about the OLN, and its really annoying. Can ya'll just give ideas about what ya'll are looking forward to and what you think you'll forge?
Good idea. I think I'll be making a tall tower that you can of course climb from the inside. It would be best suited for KotH, because you have to take control of the top of the tower. Idk, I'm trying to think of better ideas, but it's hard when you don't actually have the map.
-__- You're an idiot. Simple as that. You need to stop flaming a developer who is GIVING you more content. You should be happy if anything, but NO. Why must you cause a scene?
omg... wow... ungrateful SOB. lol. I am a bit disappointed that sandbox is gonna be like sandtrap, same environment and stuff, but bungie is actually packing a lot into it. so im sure it will be awesome. im so excited for it! I wish i could preorder halo wars... i want the new map pack SO BAD. My forge senses are tingling.
Well like I told Sarge last night when talking to him about it, I'm probably making this bigger than it really is and now after a good few hours sleep and no hangover I can see that I did. Now that we know about it we can work around it by making canvases that have all the default stuff on the map. Meaning that we can use the full remaining item limit to make our map and not worry about gametype item set up because they are already there. And we already post with each map what gametypes it is set up for so i a map is set up for one thing but the end user loads it up with something else they should not expect the non used gametype stuff to be within the map. Would still be nicer i we could decide what to use that part of the OLN on but I don't think it will matter now because effectively we can use more items to make the map.
how is it not worth your money? they are actually giving us a big improvement from Foundry with sandbox. Plus, its not like you're JUST going to buy sandbox, you get the other two maps with it. And besides, if you read the interviews, bungie is listening to fans, but they also have limitations to what they can let forge do. You can't expect sandbox to be the god of forge maps with control over EVERYTHING. and the grid is most certainly not pointless. For those who make asthetic maps, or geomerge a lot in general, the grid acts like a very useful, easy to see guideline. About the secondary "budget"- that's there on EVERY map. on every single map there is an OLN. Its not a new thing. I don't think its a waste of money at all to get the new map pack. Besides, having more than two Killballs would probably lag out the map and not allow for superb gameplay.
ONly 2 killballs, wah wah wah. Foundry didnt have any. when it came out were you like " no that map sucks, it doesnt have any killballs at all". The blue grid is for lining stuff up. without it, how are people supposed to make symmetrical, even maps. dont forget about the other maps, Orbital is gonna be insane, especially for infection, the "secondary budget" is on all maps anyways, i ran into it on foundry many times, but know, because they made this map, in the testing they found out that the default items count toward the map total. now that we know this there can be a bunch of new Canvases with the default items still on them someplace out of the way. finally. a "few extra forgable objects" is such an understatement, its like saying " oh that hitler, nice kid, just kind of..... confused".
So you can only have 2 killballs. That's okay. Remember that you can build maps in the minefield. Build your floating map far enough into the minefield, and the problem is solved. No need to use killballs to keep players from escaping. You can even use walls and other scenery items to block off escape routes to the main map area. The minefield will be far more useful than the 2 killballs. (If you use it)
The lack of Killballs can easily be compensated for, like I said during Vice's TGIF, place a receiver node inside the kill ball and then you can use Tele-porters as death portals. That could be a good way to get death pits in maps without breaking the rules of Atlas, but other than that, this technique is not much different than placing receivers out of the map. And don't forget what Sam is saying, too. The mine field (if it's still there) will be very useful if used right.
This statement is a win. Seriously though, you need to quit complaining, kid. Bungie deals out quality maps and I haven't been disappointed with one yet. You're complaining about things that are BRAND NEW and ADDITIONAL. If you want, you can just ignore them and pretend it's one of the old feature-less maps. In short, quit crying, Bungie listens to the fans and we love them.
yeah, i was going for somthin that would hopefully show up as a quote in somebodies little signature thingy. Anyways, yeah there are some things that i don't like the look of on sandbox, but it hasn't even come out yet, and im sure it will be amazing. so quit complaining.
I would have never thought that someone would be disappointed with Sandbox. It's basically a Forger's dream.
Seriously, how can you hate something before you try it out? That's just dumb. At the very least, be neutral until you can see for yourself if you like the map or not. Don't be biased against something you can't fully know yet.
even if they're just doing that, there will still probably be some epic maps made on sandbox. If they never get the map pack, it will just be their own loss.
Has anyone considered that without a door-type object there won't be any geo-merging? (Bungie probably considered that because they had a "how to geo-merge video on the favs one time) Please correct me if there is another method
