I play on Heroic. I tried easy, and I learned nothing from the experience. Then I played normal, and I got used to the controls, but nothing else. So I decided to plummet myself into the hardest difficulty available right now, and it is tough. It's all about counter after counter, and while I can come up with a plan overall, I am horrible at counters. I rely on drawing out as long as I can until I amount an army that I can dominate with. While I win that way, I typically come close to loosing. However, I am getting better. I am learning which units to use for which enemies, and the amount I should create. For example, first thing I do is build a Reactor, A supply, and a barracks. I send out 5 Flame Troops to take over the Supply place. As they take care of that, I deploy some marines, and an upgraded hog to take over the additional base. That goes smoothly, but then the enemy comes, and I falter. EDIT: Yes, the music is amazing.
Blasphemy!!! Idk, I'll probably do that as well. Whenever I get a new game, I HAVE to beat the Campaign before doing anything else. I'm pretty sure Halo Wars will be the same.
Me too. The campaign will take the majority of my time though I may fit in some 3v3 skirmishes and a bit of the mythic map pack.
I heard that the Campaign won't be that long in Halo Wars.. which could be a good or a bad thing. But once I'm done with Campaign, it's straight to Sandbox for me.
Meh, campaign really isn't the focus of RTS's. It's all about the skirmish. The reason I'll play Campaign is so I can hopefully gleam nice little information the Halo Universe.
There are 15 campaign missions in the game, but if the first two are anything to go by, they will all be very short.
I got roflstomped on normal difficulty LOL. What really stood out to me were the cutscenes, they looked AMAZING especially the cutscene after the first mission where the prophet commands his troops to blow up the Ice Structure.
That's why I'm playing it. I'm a fan of Halo Lore. But after I'm done messing around in Sandbox for a couple of days, I'll go back to Halo Wars and play some Skirmishes with my friends.
I like this game cause it is getting me comfortable with RTS's. Now I need to get Star Craft... and Star Craft 2 when it comes out. I am surprised I didn't get into these games earlier, because when I was younger I was an amazing Chess player, and this reminds me of that in some ways.
Nice find. One of the 5G achievements is called "Thinking about my doorbell". What's that a piss-take of? (I know what it is, you've got to guess!)
