I noticed a soccer ball in the scenery tab on foundry. When I used it, it just rolled around for a bit. Does anyone know what this is for or some good ways to use it?
There arn't really any good ways to use a soccer ball. You could possibly use it for a mini game, but in a real map it doesn't really have a place. On a side not it is incredibly awesome when geomerged into the ground or wall.
Actually, you can merge the soccer ball into the ground and sometimes it will stay there spinning. GREAT aesthetic effect.
The soccer ball is a great use for Rube Goldberg machines, switches, and a few other things, but there is not a very good use in competitive maps. I believe BlazeisGod put one in his competitive map for movable cover, but I'm not sure if it was ever used. The best uses are in Infection gametypes in my opinion where you have to roll it to a certain location in the map to activate a switch while fighting off a hoard of zombies. Be creative with it.
I actually put the stupid think to use. Seaboro Stadium is the only working soccer game in halo. From what i understand the sphere is a difficult shape to design in video games, I think bungie put it in just to show off. EDIT: Seaboro Stadium is the only soccer game that requires no horor rules, and has with a working point system, on forgehub.com. Is that better?
You can use soccer balls for an infinite number of things, look around at many maps and you may be able to find a soccer ball hidden somewhere. Also, your soccer game is not the ONLY working soccer game in halo... get real.
I think they made a soccer ball to test our imaginations. The soccer ball is a unique object in the game, and i think bungie made it, to see what kind of weird things we could come up with, using that ball. I mean theres already volleyball, airhockey, PINBALL? There is no use for it in much of a competitive game, but in minigames, you just gotta use your imagination and make some weird creations.
Yeah, if you really want to take the time to geomerge a soccer ball for meaningless aesthetic purposes, go for it... but it really doesn't have a purpose in Competitive games. People often put it to use in minigames, such as teleporters being blocked.
