yeah, but in other RTS there is always the problem of keeping you army together, and getting each individual unit to do their duty, without spreading them out soo far that you cant just use all on screen, and dont want to select whole army and tell them to regroup on a spot becase you have people guarding the base, circuling around the opposite directin etc. so now you cant tell your army to attack the base, and easily controll each unit withouth deselecting the whole army.

Off topic) i think a headlong remake is in order, idk about anyone else but i loved that map

The hunters are too weak against infantry, though, and need a warthog-style Y to batter ability

Nyways, it would be cool if some parts of the battles were like (company of hero's i think) the WWII RTS from a couple years back where soldiers actually fought, and used any and all cover at hand to gain an advantage, but i am actually pleased with the way the pulled off the battling, minus the previously mentioned hunter BS part

 

i'm sooooooooooooooooooooooo jealous of you all you all downloaded it but i couldn't because it stayed on 2% and wouldn't move. now i have to wait. Super : [

 

you cant actually play as the flood

 

It's been said quite a few times the Flood are not, and will not be a playable faction.
Which is a shame, I think they'd be pretty interesting to control, but oh well.

Anyway, this game just keeps on looking more and more awesome, I'm so glad I preordred it when I did!

Far far far far far far superior in every way. I can compare them if you really want to argue.

 

Could be alright though. Depends on if you can set custom games that have you and your mates working together against horde upon horde of flood forms attacking your bases. Or if they have that as a default gametype.

 

The controls are way better than any other console RTS to me. Also they really got a good feel for the camera. it feels amazing.

 

I just got on the demo this morning. It took 7 hours to DL, and it was DLing overnight, keeping me awake >:-(

But it was totally worth it! I've never played an RTS game before. It's really fun. I'm glad I pre-ordered it now; it's gonna be epic!

 

Blood Gulch will be amazing. I'm just kinda angry that there aren't (as far as we know) units to build things like walls or laser doors like we saw in campaign.

Actually, we don't know that yet. There are 4 more playable leaders, and one of them could have the ability to make shield door walls and what not.

 

Its probably going to be one of the two other covenant leaders. I don't think humans have the shield door technology.

 

Well yes, I would think the same. Again, we cannot guess until we get the full game (which I really cannot wait for... I will probably ignore the Mythic Map pack the first few days...)

This is what I always wondered, How can the Flood even stand up to the covenant and the humans? Both of those have giant war machines, the flood have weak foot soldiers. True, they have alot of them, but I don't really see how its fair.
