    I am going to do it anyway. It will be floating above the ground a little so you do not take as much damage though.

    My strategy is to take the most incredibly insanne topic ever and then tist it so it woks and plays well.

    Since you won't lend a guiding hand, I will.

    Conquest wouldn't work out to well with all the bombs giong off. What's the point of trying if you're just going to die without any high chance of success. But, I'm sure that whatever is made will be unique.

    I have my doubts

    But, that does bring us to an interesting topic that I've been thinking about for the past couple days... if immovable objects, like double boxes, are placed on top of the mines, will they actually still have effect? i mean, we didnt have immovable objects to play around with on sandtrap of this nature.. so it may very well be possible to build out in the dunes if done correctly, Avalanche style

    You could jack up the player damage resistance and the damage each person deals to match. That way the bombs wouldn't kill you, only hurt.

    Ever played rocket race Sand Trap? The boundary explosions still hurt you. You could jack up the shield recharge rate to make people live for a while in the minefield though.

    Turning up the Damage resistence would make them hurt you alot less?

    Personally i think that if your going to make a bomb map make a very high-floating map so that it takes a while for the bombs to hit the bottome of the map. Though i wouldn't make a bomb map so....oh well

    Am i the only one that is running the scrip of this thread or something really slow. Its kinda annoying. Maybe we should make a new thread from scrach or something, i don't know.

    On-Topic: I think there should be a sub-forum on sandbox creations, because the mass of sandbox maps will suffocate anything else.

    Why would there be a separate forum for them they would still be organized by competitive mlg etc.

    I plan on making a new version of pennyless using the killballs on this map.

    If thats ok with deathtoll

    I think a sub-forum wouldn't work. Then you'd have a bunch of MLG, race, mini game, etc maps all in one category. I think we just need more tags. I think a (Foundry) and a (Sandbox) tag would help sort out maps in their respective forum much easier. And (Non-Foundry/Sandbox) as well? Those would be the three main categories of maps in each respective forum. I might just go post that under customer service, but I'm sure the leaders of the forum have already thought about this a lot.

    I would agree with you, if there wasn't a major flaw with that.
    It would be just general Sandbox maps, so you would get MLG, competitive, infection, racing and more all in one unorganized subforum.
    Not cool. The only way it would work would be if there was a Sandbox Category, much like there is forged maps.
    Chances of that happening are slim to none.

    You make some good points, Rusty, but I've already decided I want an adjustable kill ball. So I'm going to keep working backwards until I find a way to make customizable death barriers seem feasible.
    I think if you put a single box on the dunes you'd be high enough to be safe from the mines. So it could work, and it would be an interesting game mechanic. Don't fall off or else you get blasted by mines. Hurry up and find a ramp back up to the map before you die.

    Considering the nice work you did with Coldfront, I'm sure you'll be able to build something that cleverly incorporates Sandbox's hills. Personally though, I plan to build a terrible map out on those dunes and then name it Unbelievably Pointless Geomerges.

    I can already tell you'll need moar interlox.

    On the topic of sandbox, is the killball an actual explosion, or a ball that causes you to explode? Because if you're exploding, theoretically you could kill someone at the same time. Would that count as a kill by you or the Guardians?

    And that brings up another question. What does a death by killball count for? We've established that it's not equipment, so does this just mean there'll be a lot more Guardian deaths?
