Exactly, its size hasn't been altered it just isn't floating like in the first picture.

So basically what you are saying is that sandbox is going to be completely flat and there are no underground tunnels?

I wonder if they would actually make a maple syrup bottle on forge lol

or perhaps Urk's words were twisted to describe some insider information already known.

Pretty much. "Tunnel" was probably a bad term to use. Hallway I think would have been more appropriate.

None of this is confirmed yet, but the chances of building underground just seem so rediculous to me.

I would say so as well. If bungie where to make it to where forgers are allowed to forge, they are getting a little to advanced, yet still we dont here anything about an undo button for forge.

Ya I really wasn't expecting an underground editing tool, or the fact that this map has underground tunnels or an area

That just doesn't seem feaseable either. It's clinging to a fading hope. With processing restraints I doubt we will be able to change the dimensions of the ball that much.

Folks, you need to think outside the box a little here. Most of you seem to think that the ball is only good for creating floating maps with death barriers. I doubt you're going to get far using a death ball that way. Well then what good is a death ball then? Who's gonna intentionally walk into it?

I'll give you a scenario. Let's say you're playing oddball. If you're the last player alive you could play the ball into the Killball. This would allow your team to set up again instead of frantically fighting to control the objective.

Or you could cut off routes in your map later in the game by having the KillBall spawn two minutes in.

In a conquest map it could provide a way for a player to flank the other team by use of the custom power up.

Maybe you want an indoor map with a death pit, but without the use of death teleportors. In fact how would you even set up death teleporters?

With minigames you can set it up so that the zombies try and force the humans into KillBalls by knocking them off of ledges.

There's more uses to this thing than simply utilizing them for floating base maps, which generally speaking, suck anyways.

thats actually what i though as well. the area is fully customizable to any rectangle or cylindrical shape, and the ball-explosion we see is a result from stepping into said area. I think it will take far too much engine resources to perpetuate that killball all game long.

Man, the Kill Ball is a hot topic in this thread. Are you guys interested in anything else like dynamic lights, or the different kinds of building blocks at our disposal?

I like them, but they probably won't come around as a hot-topic because there's no way to debate about them.

I like the new change a scenery and the plethera of objects we've been given. They're going to give maps a new sense of depth, and there are going to be a lot more original designs.

You've got a point, but it's just so boring discussing only about the Kill Ball lol. Hopefully tomorrow Bungie will reveal some more sweet info about Sandbox.

the Killball is really the only large mystery thats been 100% confirmed.. and frankly the most intriguing. I think that's why.

Odds are they'll just confirm everything that has already been stated over at IGN. If you haven't noticed, Bungie is usually the last place to check for fresh info.

Perhaps they might delve a little deeper though, you never know.

That would be nice eguitar. I was going to do it myself, but I'm too lazy. IGN is kind of annoying to navigate. I still think the kill ball will be size changeable. By the way, the dynamic lighting seems like it would be cool for a number of uses besides just changing the color of bases. You could make some cool infection maps by lighting up houses and making the outside dark with filters. You could use them for awesome centerpieces or to light up weapons as well. You know what I just thought of? Using the kill ball as an aesthetic piece. Imagine sticking them on the back of a giant space ship. So when you jump into the rockets "moving" the ship, you actually die.

Hopefully the Kill Ball will work while it is picked up in Forge, that would make for some Epic lulz

I was thinking about putting one out of map way up in the sky, so it looks like a giant exploding sun. Your idea is really cool to though.

I have several cool ideas for maps once sandbox comes out.

1)MLG map. The possibilities are endless I have been rough drafting several layout and just need to know if the items support it.

    2) Mini game map using extremely large jump course. Imagine miles the jump course time ten.

3)Intense conquest map built entirely on the mine-field where you die quite often but are still able to win by shear tries. I am excited for this one.

I don't know about the MLG one, but the other two are great ideas.
