I didn't catch anything like that in both interviews I read, but I did remember reading that there will be different sizes of door frames (even ones that you have to crouch to go through) But I like that idea.
Okay, it just seemed like you were one of those guys who thinks that they're better than everyone else. I guess it was just the way you worded your sentence. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
Lol, I don't think he meant any harm. I suck at forge but this is gonna be awesome to take a whack at it. Also, you guys probably mentioned this already but did anyone notice that the map looked like it had 2 different skys?
We still have VIP zones we can use to line up floating objects with the ground, and it'll be especially easy to do so with this nice bright blue grid on the floor. But I know it's not the same :[ The death ball gets better the more I think about it. I imagine that it'll be set up similar to a territory zone, where you can fully customize the size and shape of the kill area. If that's the case then this is the end of map breakage. No more dumping untold amounts of resources into giant walls only to have the players grenade jump out and over, instead you can simply lay a few death balls wherever your boundaries happen to be weak. If you follow this line of thinking then it would make sense to assume you could lay enough death balls to create a death zone that covers the entire base of Sandbox, setting the stage for a floating map. It would be like a second blackout, except with a bigger budget, more room, no frustrating death barriers, a better selection of items, a flat ground to work off of, and a significant improvement in visibility. I really hope I'm right about this. So many maps I never made on Blackout just becasue it's such a frustrating canvas. And I'd love to create a improved version of my Northern Lights map.
I noticed that too, but I think one side of the map has the sun setting down, and the other is the "dark" side of the map. I'm sure you won't be able to change the time of day or anything like that, but I could be wrong.
Great thinking, that's definitely an idea. Dude, the death ball rant you just went on gives me the chills =X
I've been gone a while so I couldn't respond. Anyway that's not what I meant. Before Halo 3 Beta came out the created a piece of equipment that would create a sphere that would kill anyone who touched it. I was saying it was probably that vision recreated. And you know what sandbox needs? More sand.

rofl Anyway has everyone seen the IGN Article and Gallery with all the new Sandbox and Mythic pictures.
I'm reading the interviews now, I just paused for a moment to post: YES! KILL BALL! I shall return in a bit...
I Think................................im in love! lol kinda late to say this, but it would be kool if you could change the size of baxes and other items, like you spawn a box, go to the item properties and then change the size to like: 1/2, 1 1/2, 2, 2 1/2, 3, etc.... maybe up to 5 times, and possibly have 1/4 sizes. idk, but it would be very useful for floors and walls and roofs. btw, does anyone know the budget for sandbox? or the item limit?
You can't resize objects, but there are alot of different sized building blocks. Yes sandbox's budget is larger than most maps, it was like 517 or something with all the default items on it.
In one of the interviews, Lars Bakkens says that the starting budget (without removing anything from the default layout) will be $510. Judging it by the first screenshot we were introduced to, I'm thinking the max budget will be around $800. I'm not totally sure, I'm just making a guesstimate.
Budget is 510 moneys with all of the default objects placed. Item limit is standard. I am interested to hear about what Bungie DIDNT tell us in this interview. What can make it better than it is?
