If the mongoose is flat on the floor it should only be at about waist height. This could however still be a problem. Other methods are still valid and this was only a suggestion. I was also wondering if it would be a good idea to use deployable covers. They look completely out of theme but they serve their purpose decently. The only poblem is that there are four and it takes several hits to destroy them. humans however can still shoot through them and they can respawn at least once if they are depleted rather than destroyed.

I'm actually not a huge fan of the mongoose idea, but agree it should be used. There are problems with it, like the limited number of mongooses. I would use it on some windows that are a bit unique, like the one on the second floor at the top of the first room stairs, to make sure that the window schemes are not inconsistent.

As for the deployable grav lifts, those are great for the stairs, but for the help room door, I'll have to show you my mechanism I described a few pages back in-game. It makes it a lot better, because it's a real doorway that will stay open after activation, and it can be shot through and defended, whereas with a deployable grav lift, the help room door would close... Not very true to the original.

Heres an idea for the help door have it so there is a dumpster as the door and a custom poower up that players can pick up after say 2 minutes and have a mancannon on a delayed 2 minute spawn so they cant get in there earlier.

Well, you kind of know the mechanism, but I guess you didn't know it.

The deployable grav lift lauches the dumpster up into a secret compartment in the roof that grabs and holds onto the dumpster via mancannons. The dumpsters will hang from the ceiling (which is actually realistic to the actual game. If you noticed, when you clear debris to the upstairs, the couch actually floats on the ceiling). The help room will be interesting, but when the dumpster flies up I'm going to make sure it stays hidden, or else it'll look wierd.

Ah, okay. Well then, sounds good. That basically sounds like my contraption, with a choice on when you open it. Perfect.

Just a question how did you get the random box to work?

It's not too confusing, but due to concern by Rival I won't releasing any info on how it works until after the map is done.

there should also be a custom powerup for the humns so they get 1 hit kills. this is a powerup in the original game, so it is true to it.it would only last 30 seconds however, and would not respawn for a while.

That would be great, but I think the zombies need the powerups more.

you can set the custom powerups to different settings, just press x on it when in monitor mode.

No, you're thinking about the Custom Powerup settings in the gametype... -_-

Plus I'm not doing that, it's not fair in a game like Halo 3, unless zombies get powerups.

He was saying you can change how often the item spawns, and if it spawns at the start of the game. He said it should only spawn everyonce in a while.

This weekend I will have some freetime and could take a look at your map. I just wanted to now which items you needed the most. Should I use doors, window panels, fencewalls, wall corners...

I thought you were talking about respawn time. Well the no, you're wrong, you can't change the effects of it in forge mode...

Ok, the random box has been impletemented into the map, the basic layout of the map has been determined, the cave has been properly barricaded, and the window barricade system has been planned and tested. Now I really get the chance to work on the map.

Also, I plan on entering this map into the "Deja Vu" Forge Contest after it's completed and posted. I'll keep the thread updated with my progress on the map, whenever I feel the need to update.
