Actually to my belief that is very easy. This isn't really the perfect thread to confess modding in Halo 2 with all the Bungie employees but what the hell. Anyway, there was a program called Dothalo. It was basically the modding resource where people changed projectiles/speed/jump height/damage/etc. Now the damage of the weapon was a simple command, and I'm sure its even simpler for Bungie. Though the teleporters reliability seems more complex. I can't really get in depth but it seems they would have to change the probability of its actions, players aim (So they can also go through it while looking forward), etc.
Yeah, and I think Bungie made the teleports that way so people wouldn't keep popping in and out of them.
Yes, but I was just saying they could edit the game in a DLC. It would, ofcourse, be more difficult to fix the teleporters. But it shouldn't be a problem.
True. But even now there is one map with teleporters in Matchmaking. Furthermore they're in secluded spots which should eliminate teleporter camping. Furtherfurthermore they could create a rule like upon having no shields you can not continually go through teleporters, just a more suitable rule. I don't want to look like I'm just downloading Sandbox for its teleporters, or degrading Bungie on their maps performance. I just originally said I hope they have the time to fix this problem.
It is sandbox but it looks like sandtrap look at this. This is even found on bungie.net Urk did what we wanted us to do he showed us sandbox.
I think that was clarified awhile ago -_- It's pretty obvious. My only concerns with Sandbox so far is the area outside the sand dunes, if it's like Sandtrap, with Mines and everything, it may take a lot of resources to block off the map if you were making a map in the style of Avalanche; a vehicle map in the shape of a U, you would have to make a wall that stretches all the way to the back barrier, and then extend as far as you wanted it to begin with.
True enough, but if you wanted to change up the bases or the side paths of the map (with the large man-cannons that send you to the Ghost spawn), you would be able to that on Sandbox (hopefully). Just want to have the possibility of making that kind of map
All I know is that a lot of people are going to be making a lot of maps in the mine field and then it won't become unique anymore... we are all going to have to fight over who makes it first though we all have similiar ideas. And this isn't really relevant, but who the hell is going from map post to map post rating maps 1/5's??? Remedy, the best god dang map in the back rooms ever is at 4/5! This act is very childish and I hope you get banned you punks...
1. If you were to make a map in the minefields, it would be bad because the mines are designed to kill you. A lot. Also, why would anyone want to "fight" over an idea. That is just odd. If you happen to implement a good idea effectively, good job. Just because you "have an idea" does not mean that it's only yours to use. 2. The map ratings don't matter. If someone wants to be a "prankster", let them. A couple stars aren't going to change how good a map is. EDIT: Hey, I hope that grenades don't get stuck under double boxes for Sandbox.
I know plenty of people who are bored with matchmaking. Lots of my friends don't even like halo anymore. More people are playing guitar hero, gears of war 2, fallout, and basically anything newer than halo! Lots of people would complain if bungie turned some map into a forging heaven for us. They'd say there's already a forge map, and that having another is just adding to the low quality. Think about it, if you have a map built with forge, that for the most part doesn't use any forging techniques and is just blocks, then people wouldn't like it as much as a map such as Guardian with overly flowing detail, lifts, small secrets, and things that fluidly run together. Now, you might be thinking that bungie wouldn't care too much about what forging maps they release. It's really just a minor detail that adds to the fact that this Sandbox map will most likely no be a whole new forging "experience" -for lack of a better word. Still, wouldn't this one map degrade all other maps, forgewise?! I don't think it would work out in the long run. U could try overloading
The same problem exhisted all the way back in Halo: CE mate. If you tried going back through a teleporter too soon after you came through the first time it would take you no where. You'd just be standing at the back of it staring at green. The only thing that change from Halo 2 teleporters to Halo three is it's no longer possible to telefrag someone.
Nice find mate. Interesting place to spawn the rockets. Must really be a large-ish map if there are two rockets on it.
I'm not sure of a direct source, but a secondary source said he believes it's from a reviewer. Also note the precise gridding on the ground.
Not all that precise griding. About the same as foundry's except without the little dots everywhere. Don't know about everyone else but I use those dots heaps.
