Funny how people will only focus on what they want to see and make assumptions based on their own desires rather than focusing on the obvious answers right in front of them.

They said there will NOT be a full blown map editor. Forge will not change that far beyond what we already have.

Didn't they call it a map manipulation tool?

Which is what forge is. You can manipulate the placement of objects on a map. Not the entire map itself.

Also, Geo merging will still be possible unless Bungie has done something specifically to stop it. Geo merging was done for a while before people figured out that toe doors could be used to do it.

Well we'll just see then wont we. Bungie has said (in there own words) That this is a map unlike anything they have done before, that it will provide limitless forge customisation. This is not just another bigger foundry. Im saying is that there is something more than what we already know going to be included.
I just cant wait to see what it is.

Sorry i was responding to the person before me who said there is more to sandbox than meets the eye, and thus I said multi-tiered, though I probably should have quoted him.

the one, and only, theory I'll buy into at this point is the "open-world" bit, meaning that there's much more space to forge on than just where those objects are placed in that screenshot

You know, I hope we get some new teles. I love the usefulness of the foundry teles, but I'd like something more halo CEish...the like blocks with the green squares.

I hope they just fix the teleporter so it will be reliable.

I doubt they could do that just for one map, but I miss the stable ones in the Previous Halo's. I don't know how they ****ed it up in Halo 3 for it was such a minor detail, but they did. Not trying to rant, but in situations pertaining to the teleporter I tend to get pissy.

I believe he means that when you are using them for braces on geomerging they get screwed up and turn sideways half interlocked with the double box. This is very annoying. Exspecilly when you have to get underneath the map every time to see if it is messed up.

Stable as in when I back up into one I don't just stand there while a have a green vortex covering my screen.

I'm unaware if you played Halo 2 or not, but that is basically what I mean. I see it impossible for them to copy and past Halo 2's teleporter into Halo 3 (lol), but they could retouch it a bit.

    How so.

This map could be very interesting. I have some ideas on what kind of map I will start my sandbox lineup on but I really want to finish two or three major ideas on foundry and avalanche first. I hope that bungie listens to that E-Mail Matty sent them. It would appear that they took his advice for filters that tint a certain area with a different hue. If they listen to other aspects of mattys post then Elephants might be included too.

As I said earlier, I don't think they can resolve this problem in a DLC map, but these are my thoughts, and some Halo 2 players as well.

I don't know how to explain this problem much, because if you haven't played Halo 2 you'd be unaware of it. Its like trying to explain colors to a blind person ( Not trying to be offensive, but that is what the task feels like). Anyway in Halo 2 the teleporters were reliable. Upon stepping into it you would be teleported. But now when going through one and backing up into you just stand there, and must repeat the task again.

Now this may not sound like a world controversy, for it is not. Its not a big deal, and could understand if Bungie has much more time-consuming/important things on their hands. Just from being an avid Halo 2 player I get cranky over this subject.

Well, they did edit the Hornet a bit for Avalanche, so maybe your hopes for a better teleporter are not so far-fetched.
    Maybe.

And look at cold storage's teleporters. They sure changed.

That is true, and definitely comforted me.

But those are really both profile attributes. In both the quality didn't differ from its predecessor (Besides the hornet having no missile pods). And I also seeing this a time-consuming problem that really isn't really worth it to bve on their agenda. Furthermore the Mythic Map pack would be the only maps with reliable teleporters leaving the pre-mythic the same. Unless they were to do an update, which would be useless even in my opinion.

I suppose all I can do is hope.

He means fix the teleportation system. In halo, teleporters don't work upon touching them. Sometimes you can go walk through, and not teleport, especially noticeable when being teleported, than trying to step right back through. In halo2, it was instant, you could go forward and back forwar and back and you would continually go through. Yes they changed the aesthetics of teleporters in CS, but not how they work. I only hope for an aesthetic change.

Actually its guns were alot weaker on Avalanche.

If they can take away weapons, reskin it, and change the power of its weapons all in a DLC there is no reason why they couldn't fix the teleporters.
