The moon and sun can be visible on earth at the same time. And this map is on a foreign planet/ structure, so who knows what celestial events occur there.

I love sandtrap and I think it's the 2nd best map on all of Halo 3 (gameplay wise). This looks crazy, I love that there aren't as much annoying slopes all over. The blocks with blue and red on them look kind of out of place, almost photoshoped or something, but it is supposedly a forging heaven so I think it was just added for looks. It kind of looks like coagulation and sandtrap put together. This will be epic. I don't like the mood though, it looks kind of gloomy with the sun rise/set. I wish it was brighter and maybe with some blue clouds or something. That's what really gets me, so stuff like foundry just makes me sad. i didn't like all the shadows and stuff. Overall: Looks like good gameplay, but unoriginal. Supposedly great to forge on. We'll see. Right now: 7/10
Interesting idea but it could just be a coincidence and really we shouldn't be decrypting everything they say in case of some hidden code or message but if it is a code (however unlikely) I'll praise Mallet for his idea

you guys ever noticed the geomerging on default foundry? along the red side where the double boxes are meeting the wall slightly, and that single open box with the yellow sign and stickies/spiker is geomerged in slightly too.
I swear that we all already knew about this whole geomerging on default Foundry thing... apparently not...
okay, okay I FINALLY just got through 43 pages of ... junk. Wow, half of those comments shouldn't have been made. I'm truthfully confused. "Open-world layout" - now what the hell does this mean?! Maybe it's just bad wording. I've tried to think about it, but I have no idea. Stop being so overly conclusive! You're just going to letdown everybody! Look at the Sandbox skull. It has a forging monitor on it. I can almost guarantee that there won't be a new map editor that will be able to do the unthinkable. It will be a basic sandtrap, without the objects and gaping holes. Just a flat piece to work on, so that you can make larger maps/things. It's just a larger version of Foundry with prbly more and more diverse objects. Jeez, wtf, no more pancakes or I'm gona kill someone. Let's talk about lag! How do you think a map would play if there were 3 different terrains built outside this pictured area? It would be the worst thing in the world! It wouldn't work! You can't change so many things on one map, otherwise it will degrade and ruin all others. It would be a terrible move on Bungie's part if they just suddenly made all the glory on one map. Nobody would care to buy future maps, nobody would want to do anything else besides forge! (I like the delete key)

Theres definately more to sandbox than meets the eye. The way everyone thinks at the moment is tha its just a flat sandy plane with more room and more objects. Why would bungie be so excited about that. No i think theres another realm or customisation their including. They did say it was a forge MAP EDITOR afterall
