What are the orbs and what do they do? Can we place sand? If we can place sand then can we place snow, water, rocks, or any other environment items? What vehicles are placeable on Sandbox? Can we place an elephant on Sandbox? (The vehicle!) Are there A.I. Bots placeable on Sandbox? Can we place scenery on Sandbox such as the crashed vehicles on Sandtrap? Can we place death barriers on Sandbox such as the minefield on Sandtrap and the picture of Sandbox shown in the Bungie Update? Can we place barriers on Sandbox that stop but don't kill? Can we cut off pieces of Sandbox to make into cliffs? Are any new features to Forge going to be added along with Sandbox? What will the budget be on Sandbox? Will there be a budget on Sandbox? How many items can we place on Sandbox? All of these are questions I was hoping to be answered in the Bungie Update today on: 1/30/09 But these questions were not answered, and instead Bungie did exactly what I was hoping they wouldn't do. Bungie updated us on the picture that everybody already knew about and then gave us more information on Halo 3: ODST although Sandbox is coming out in 1 month, and Halo 3: ODST is coming out in 9 months. I am very sad that Bungie wasted an update and that nobody knows anything about Sandbox. So many people might waste their money on something they don't even know about, in 1 month... sadface. I am starting to wonder if Halo Wars: Limited Edition is even worth my hard earned birthday and christmas money. You make fun of me for my hard earned moneyz!!! AWWWW... sadface. I guese your right about that whole picture mistake thing but still... Urk knew we expected a lot from this Update. I am a forger to!!! I needz to know so I can provide the community with a total kick-ass map before anybody else does!
The shale ask and urk shall answer. I am not sure where you are coming from with this screenshot. Could you please try to elaborate a little more. Also Foundry will not be abandoned once sandbox comes out. Foundry and sandbox are two very different maps. Foundry will still be used very often for forge maps. But the fact that sandbox is well....... Sand takes a lot out of it. The objects might not get what most get from foundry's objects. I will still be finishing my lineup of foundry and avalanche maps well into the time once sandbox is released But I will also do sandbox quite often. I have a question for Shiska and Urk. if it is not to early what kind of objects will we be getting that have never been introduced or even though of in previous maps. Elephants? Sniper towers? Missile turrets? And i also really appreciate what you guys down at bungie are doing for us. Clearing up a lot of questions that we have been pondering since September last year. ~forgegod117~
just so yo guys know, the "lights", or "things" are actually in a circle around the entire map. or... wait are there mines around all of sandtrap? EDIT: my screenshot is to ask "What is the significance of the lights". hope that's clear enough.
Half of those questions virtually answer themselves, you're asking for waaaaay too much, I'd be surprised if even a single one of your questions is actually in sandbox... As for the update, well, we weren't supposed to know about sandbox before today, so it's completely understandable that we got very basic information from bungie seeing as it was supposed to be the first time we ever saw the map. This made me lol hard... you did nothing to earn your christmas or birthday money, you gained it completely through tradition...
Trust me when I say you were hoping for WAY to many things to be confirmed. Yeah, you can hope, don't get me wrong, but taking it to that extent is bound to dissapoint you. Have patience, I'm sure we'll be rewarded with something for waiting so (im)patiently in the coming weeks!
I don't know what you mean. I was just talking about the minefield in general which is around the whole of Sandbox (hopefully). It is definitely around the entire Sandtrap. And what do you mean Bl00d, because I don't think anyone posted any one word posts on this thread. Conker kid, you're going to be very disappointed when Sandbox is just what we see in this picture. You're really getting your hopes up. I do agree that the weekly update was (again) useless. Edit- Why are you even asking the significance of the lights? They are the minefield markers just as in Sandtrap.

We know for sure that environment 1 is the ground level. With the camera panning downward I believe Bungie is omitting Environment “3” from the camera shot. We have a ground level pancake and sky level pancake. It wouldn’t benefit the map any if the second pancake was in the sky as well. Knowing this fact I believe the third pancake to be in the ground. I think that this Pancake theory could be true. But imagine that you were Urk and had so much power that with every word you said, people would make something of it! What if he posted that he had pancakes for lunch just for the fun of it? If you had that much power would you abuse your power to throw off the crowd and make them think something else? You must've missed the whole part explaining that Environment 1 is what they name the first screenshot of a map that isn't gameplay, thus just the environment...
Is there more!? I say that this means there is more to the map, not just sand, but more then sand. Maybe they will release more information? Maybe this isn't it? Maybe there will be snow, and water, and dirt. Urk my man, you are really getting me frustrated. What if there is more than just Forerunner objects? I think that this brings us back to what I had thought earlier about the multiple civilization's objects thing. What if they brought together every object on every map and stuck them on Sandbox...

Yeah, the lunch comments weren't clues, hints, or breadcrumbs of any sort. I really did have pancakes for lunch yesterday. If you don't believe me, you can ask Shishka. And I really could go for another stack today. Good thing there's an Original Pancake House literally attached to the studio.
From looking at the picture I can see: - Forgeable items such as ramps, double boxes and pyramids. - Mongeese, warthogs and choppers. - Proximity visual effects used for lighting (red and blue orbs) - A BR or a sniper (if you look closely) - A possible mine field. Hopefuly my last comment on here, but I just have to say this: Why does everybody just assume that this is the size of Sandbox!? We already can tell from the fact that it says "Environment 1" in the link, that this is not the full thing. Please stop saying to compare this to a warthog because it is obvious that Bungie would not hype something up this much and not make it larger than Foundry.
