Also in the middle structure, it seems as that there is a Over Shield. Don't know if it is but it looks a lot like one. Also judging from the size of the wart hogs, it looks about the same size as standoff. It says for players 4 + correct? Well that's the same as standoff. I also want to bring this point back up, makes a lot of sense.
Yea, that just seems a little bit out there. If I'm wrong in doubting then I get a nice suprise. If I'm right in doubting then I don't get let down. It is, however, such a pleasantly delicious theory...*sighs*
Lolz... it's Bungie, what do you expect them to do with Sandbox? Give us a few boxes and crap like they did with Foundry? I only think this because they have been so secretive about Sandbox, they didn't let anybody try it out or nothin' like they did for the other 2 maps. I have a feeling they are going to stick something new in there. They had better. Notice how Sandbox Canvas has no time of day or anything, and this map does? That tells us something. Also, the barriers are in the picture, ROFLMAO! So does that mean we are getting the sun to? I'm just saying, if this is Sandbox, and that picture I posted earlier isn't. I'm going to be pissed...
You'd be able to see the Teardrops under the vehicles though ... especially that Mongoose in the fore of the image.
also notice how the pillars have different colors on each base - these could be colorized by these orbs as well - i would also think that if the orbs are viewable in customs (i doubt it) they would be easy to hide - i am hoping that there are more than 2 colors available from a programing perspective, worn edges would be a nightmare to implement - the edges would be textures only and the items themselves would be very simple geometric shapes - for example, take stairs, the shape is a simple right triangle - there is no bottom stair to be seen, yet you can stand where it should be unfortunately some items, like double boxes, do not follow this principal yes, they did - there is no way they they would release something this big without a 'known' forger testing it
i would not get too worried - the best items in the game for easy and precise placement are the Forerunner blocks on Avalanche for example, compare how easy it is to precisely place a ramp on Avalanche to the frustrating stairs on foundry i would think that these new blocks would have the same 'structure', and now we have a flat surface to set them on
Create map on "squares" of scenery (squares will cost, more squares means object to place on them) designate which squares belong to each team (the orbs)(red, blue, green, neutral, etc) generate scenery around the map (mine field, hills) ???? PROFIT Much like tony hawks pro skater amirite lolwut
Waffle? Why does the red orb have a waffle texture while the blue one is completely smooth? @Mallet - That would be amazing if you could increase the amount of flat space like your pictures.
Thats one of the things this game does at long ranges to keep frame rate up, especially on splitscreen. If you load up a map like Standoff on splitscreen you'll see that forged(especially movable) objects in the distance have that pixellated texture just like our red orb here.
As amazingly awesome as that would be, again I reiterate that Bungie would never make maps within the same platform obsolete. Doing what you've described (wetdream) would do just that with Foundry, even though it's free.
Hopefully the edges of the blocks are not physically worn too much. So much more interlocking is required on Avalanche because the corners of the boxes are rounded off so much. I would hope Bungie would try and give normal users all of the opportunities that we have, interlocking, geomerging...ect without using these advanced glitching techniques. The reason why forge is so different from other game level creators is because they want the average user to be able to make something, so if anything I'd expect forging to be even easier on this map. I'd expect things to line up betterand fit together more smoothly. All of those little nuances that made forging on Foundry so annoying.
If you're in player mode while forging, you will not see the teardrops. But you can see the spawn points, so it's still possible that a screen was taken before much else besides scenery was placed. and Rusty: Battle Rifle
Size comparison, Foundry/Sandbox HBO did a size comparison with foundry , i make it 2x + the size of the griffball court
Great find! More space will be greatly appreciated. I was hoping the map would be a little larger, but I'll take anything larger than foundry! I just hope double boxes are plentiful in Sandbox... I'm hoping for 36+... we'll see.
Official pic of Sandbox thoughts: No cliffs? How are we supposed to make a map without a floor? Other than that glaring omission, I think it will be a great map to play with. --adc
Nah, it's a Battle Rifle. Same LOD algorithm being applied there as you see affecting the red whatever-it-is further out.
