    Even though it does have somewhat good gameplay, I don't think that this was the selection to go with. I doubt very many maps were actually tested that were good, because so many nubs spammed Atlas with their crappy maps. So after crappy map after crappy map, they found this one, which doesn't really have anything wrong with it, and they decided, ok, lets just make this guy the winner. If I were to choose a map to add to the list it would probably be Reflex.

    Well I haven't actually got a chance to play it yet so I'm not in a position to judge. Hopefully I can get a game going, but most times it's almost impossible for me to get a good number of players (sadfaic)

    People should read the entire thread before they post. No one is crying about the map not having interlocking. It clearly does. Play a game on it before you even comment in this thread and you would know that. And also, I didn't enter a map in ATLAS. You would have known this as well if you read the ENTIRE thread.

    I understand everything you said and just because I didn't reply to every single sentence you posted doesn't mean you need to break it all down. Go be cool somewhere else.

    Once again, if you read the entire thread you would know I DIDN'T SUBMIT A MAP TO ATLAS.

    There are a few reasons why Reflex wouldn't make it into Matchmaking, the biggest and most prevalent issue is that it's budget glitched. That is a no no for match made maps.

    I think we all need to step back and realize that not every custom map is going to fit our particular style. I know a few people here have needed to rant, but I think we have taken this as far as we can without repeating ourselves or turning this into a huge flame war. None of us want that.

    But instead of dwelling on where we believe this map has failed, lets try and look at where this map succeeded, because it's clearly doing something others have not.

    The best we can do is learn from what has just occurred. Clearly spawns seem to be an issue with many of the maps submitted. From what I've noticed in all maps in matchmaking, not a single one uses spawn areas in straight slayer maps. Bungie seems to have faith in their standard spawn system, so we should leave it at that.

    In addition, symmetric flag matches only use "spawn flag home", and "spawn flag away from home" areas... and during asymmetric matches, an additional respawn area is added to the attackers side of a map.

    While I agree with most of what you said, every map is different. Look at the respawn areas on High ground if you want to get confused. Point is, every map will need it's own designed spawn system. And Bungie spawns aren't the greatest as we all know. I think respawn areas are really usefull in manipulating the spawn system to work better with our map design. We can't just say do it the way Bungie does for every map. And as for the spawn system on Octoplex, it has more respawn points than valhalla, a map over 3 times the size. Spawn grouping is known to be a bad thing. Since I have not been able to play more than one game on this map without wanting to throw my 360 out the window, I haven't tested how well his spawns work. I may get a party together just for a laugh though and try it out.

    That's true. Throwing more spawn points than necessary into a map doesn't do any major harm, though, however throwing them all into a group doesn't do anything beneficial.
    And really? Wow, that's a shitload of spawns.

    I can't say I've tested the map, though, I've been too lazy to download it.

    Fine maybe your not jealous, but your still too actively involved in outting down Octo. I think he deserves his fair shot at match making just like everyone else. Apparently the map plays really well, because Bungie picked it. I can't say because I haven't played it myself and I'm trusting Bungie's decision. I pretty sure you haven't played it either so go play a game on it, and more not just a forge through.

    lol OG, too bad you cant change a good decision, GET OVER IT, this map is a good decision for the playlist, it was made by and average mapper, not an elite group of pro-forgers, its not bad at all, but it can be made better, BTW, when did you join Forgehub? last week?

    Yeah this must be the fastest growing thread in the history of the site! This is a very entertaining read. I just can't wait until it actually makes it into Team Objective. Maybe Shishka can give us stats about how many times it's been vetoed.

    And yes, I have played a game on it, I've already said that too but I guess it needs repeating for the slow learners.

    You sound like your 8 years old. Who says it's a good decision? Bungie? They also thought Anvil was a good descision. We all know how that turned out.
    And yup, I joined last week. The admins called me in. Said they were looking for someone to push around all the b.net kids that somehow managed to migrate over here. (that means you)

    Anvils gamplay was average. I never got spawn killed but there wasn't anything amazing about it. Just an average map.

    Anvil was terrible. It had an over-shield, camo, laser, sword, shotgun, sniper, and rockets. The only reason people liked it was because it meant that you had a great chance of actually getting a power weapon, which isn't balanced, it's jut "fun" for noobs. It had no place in ranked matchmaking (or was it, I can't remember) or match making at all. The only positive thing about that map was the placement of the over-shield, which allowed me to grenade jump up to it, and become invincible as I was being chased.
