That was a picture of Sandtrap. They're just messing with us. And I can't believe we're going to have to buy Halo Wars to get Mythic! I won't mind if it's only 2 weeks, but if it goes over a month where we can't get it then I'm going to have to spend my money on Halo Wars which will suck.
Yes, yes, and more yes. It's a sketch made by Luke Smith of Sandtrap. But parts are clearly exaggerated (such as that huge light on top of the tower) and obviously not exact. Edit: I was wrong. I assumed. And worst of all, I was wrong. Ignore my above comment.
You shouldn't make speculations about the map, nor Halo Wars. The map could be an unlikely sketch of Sandtrap, or Sandbox is a forge map with a desert terrain like Sandtrap and the objects you see could be Forge objects. Or that could be Sandbox's terrain and Sandbox might not be a Forge map. It's impossible to tell for sure, especially from a sketch. Halo Wars is a game that is neither good nor bad until proven otherwise/released. I personally do not think that is a sketch of Sandtrap, while it does have similar qualities. The night time scheme and Tower are reasons to believe that that is not Sandtrap. Just thought I would share those insights towards the Sand Trap/Box picture.
This picture is slightly off the locaton but has 90% of the shape of the sketch. Also the light was exaggerated in the drawing.
i am going to be honest if that is sandbox i have lost all hope for bungie because i dont want another sandtrap. i want a good forging map with flat walls and roof with no cranes and thats it.
I wonder how much urk will chuckle when he sees this. Don't get me wrong, speculation and discussion is great, often very interesting. But I do think it would be quite funny for the Bungie guys to throw these random tidbits out, related or not, and watch the masses devour them, cut them up, superimpose them, and highlight all the little bits for comparison. Bungie are, no doubt, a cruel and tricksy mistress, but I must admit I can see where they get their lols, and can't entirely blame them. As for the sketch itself, I'm pretty convinced that it is indeed Sandtrap, but who knows. Maybe the point made is that it will be, ya know, sandy, and they don't want to give anything else away right now. With all that stuff that evolved around those acceptance speeches, Campaign AI in multiplayer etc, I think it's been conclusively proven that sometimes Bungie will make a little joke in good humour, only to have it leapt upon by those who wish to extract every iota of potentially juicy info from it (and who can blame them, we love Halo!). I am happy to wait and see, at least until Bungie actually give us something proper, and not a random sketch that is obviously going to be misconstrued by those questing for the holy grail of "I know it first!". I'm pretty sure Bungie wouldn't throw up some sketches of Sandtrap and claim them to be Sandbox. If the sketch is of Sandbox, which I believe it to be, then I am kinda disappointed... it doesn't look like much of a forge level with all that hilly terrain n' ****. Oh well, hopefully it is at least a forge focused map with a large amount of entirely flat ground, somewhere.
I agree with the question they asked though, "When are you going to show us Sandbox? You expect us to buy the Mythic Map Pack without getting a good look at the goods first?" Most people have not been around that long to notice that Bungie does things like this; tease us players/viewers. So unless Bungie does something about this, I don't think very much people are gonna buy the Mythic Map Pack. But of course, you can easily get three of the maps from the LE of Halo Wars. But even still, the newer people to Halo and it's community aren't gonna be too happy to notice there are absolutely no pictures of Sandbox (which is included on the three maps). But me personally, am not too concerned for Sandbox. I'm just really looking forward to Assembly and Orbital; when they release.
I have no faith whatsoever that Halo Wars will be worth a rent. RTS's just don't work on consoles. I remember multiple games which said they would "Change the way RTS's are played on consoles" and they all sucked. And what type o speculation did I make? I said it was a picture of Sandtrap and they are messing with us. I didn't even mention one thing about sandbox in that post.
I think that this post: Bungie.net : Inside Bungie : News which included this image on its header: , as well as this tagline: "It's a barren wasteland. Or is it?", and the image posted yesterday, only serve to validate the fact that somehow, in some way, Sandbox is related to Sandtrap. Considering the "...It's a barren wasteland." line, I would like to put forth the guess that Sandbox is in fact a map that is somewhere on Sandtrap. (Not literally of course. Just insofar as it has the same sort of designs, colors, and ****.)
Thats because those games didn't work on different controles. Halo wars controls are meant for the xbox 360 controller meaning you can't play it with a keyboard. They designed it specifically with xbox in mind. And its ensemble studios. Them made one of the best RTSs Age of empires so i know they won't screw this up.
I was thinking Maybe the light has something to do with the sand trap Easter eggs.........idk maybe they will update other maps as well, since they did snowbound, epitaph and sand trap.

Also, I now believe it to be Sandtarp, or Sandtrap's minefield (with the mines turned off) along with all of the foundry/avalanche items... which in my mind ain't not a good thang... sorry bungie
Well, it would be good if RvB did another walkthrough of the Mythic maps like they did of the Heroic pack. Or at least a video walkthrough from Bungie. Lol, did you read the part of the update where they talked about Brute Pimp Chieftains?
