No, it's not topaz. I'll tell you a little bit about it. It's an effect I discovered a long time ago which I applied to this old signature: and this one: . Both of those are real photographs that I edited to look like drawings/paintings. I did this through the careful use of many amounts of gradient maps and color balances. Now, on my recent works, I've started using sharpen (not Topaz sharpen) in addition to this. By placing all the gradient maps over the sharpened layer, it creates this effect. It may be similar to Topaz, but I don't really care because I didn't use Topaz (which is they 'noob's way out).
