    Pacifism on Mouse Meadow

Story: The premise of this game is small field mice are gathering for their spring feast. All of the new plants are cropping up around their meadow ready to be harvested. These mice are quick little creatures but run out of energy quickly. In order to keep their energy up they must keep their bellies full. Luckily they have an amazing sense of smell that allows them to sniff out where exactly the most scrumptious food is located. But unfortunately there are predators located in the meadow. If a mouse grows too weak they are more vulnerable to attack and likely to be killed. Which ever mouse or predator can gather the most food by the end of the game wins!

The game and name 'Pacifism' comes from geometry war 2. For anyone who hasn't played pacifism or KoTH on GW2 the object is to constantly run away from the enemies without dying by going into these blue spheres, which are impenetrable to enemies.

So similar to the Geometry wars 2 game, the map is played as follows. The gametype is FFA KoTH but some changes have been made, allowing this game to play more like a hybrid of infection and KoTH. At the beginning of each round 2 random players are chosen to be the 'zombies'(more on this later). The rest of the players are the mongoose drivers or 'mice'. The goal of these mice is to drive around to quickly moving hill spots placed around the map.

These players have 4x overshield, which is constantly draining while outside the hill. When a player reaches the hill they are invulnerable and they regain their shields, preparing them for the next hill run. The hills moves very quickly (15 seconds). This keeps the mice on their feet and in constant motion.

    (Mouse jumping over the moon)

There are of course predators which constantly chase the mouse. Each mongoose must use evasive tactics and a lot of cover in order to survive.

These 'predators' are played by the 'zombies' selected at the beginning of each round. The two selected players spawn inside a floating box at each side of the map. These players are given customs power ups to allow them to do damage, make them invulnerable, and turn them black.

At their disposal are unlimited missile pod and a few rocket launcher rounds. As appose to the mice which score points by making it to the hills, the predators score points by killing the mice.

The rounds in this game are short only 120 seconds for each of them. 5 rounds in total. Predator is randomly selected at the beginning of each round.

As you can see now the mouse's task is not as easy as one might think but the scoring has been tested to be as even as possible for the predators and mice scoring wise. But there is one honor rule for the mice, no assassinations.

    Bonus Game:
This map also supports the game type 'Missile and Mouse' originally developed by 'Dthen'
Basically, the game is just like Cat and Mouse but in place of the cat there are missile pod welding zombies. Last man standing wins!

Well that's it, I hope you all give it a shot. And as always have fun and enjoy! Any criticism is welcome.

Wow, looks really fun. A zombie game where you have to constantly keep on the move and no camp. The only bad part is that even if they are in a hill the missles could throw them off a cliff :( Other than that, looks really fun + nice screens

So this is the game you were talking about? Well I must say, it definately looks original, and fun as well. I'll give this a download and I hope to get a game on it by the end of the week. BTW, I love using missle pods so thanks for incorporating them into a mini game. =)

Wow, this looks like one of the funnest KoTH/zombie games ever. Thats prolly cuz I love driving around on mongooses :). The gametype has a great story with it and both the KoTH and infection gametypes look like a blast. I will download this asap (currently without live) and I'm sure myself and some friends will have a blast. It looks as if there are shield doors covering the entrances to the bases, which is a must for gameplay. Just a few questions for the KoTH gametype (because as fun as the infection gametype sounds, I think it will result in too much camping behind trees, hills, etc): how many points do the mice get for being in the hill, how many points do the predators get for killing a mouse, and how easy is it to kill a mouse, i.e. how many missile pod hits does it take to kill a mouse with 4x OS? All in all the gametype sounds like a blast, and the map looks to work perfectly. I'll get back with you after playing.

    Thanks for the positive feedback everyone. To answer your questions;

While it is more likely that you will camp in the zombies version, there are still way points over the human's heads and fusion coils placed in all of the hard to reach areas.

    The scoring works as follows:
4 points for a mouse kill
1 point per second in the hill
2 points per second uncontested in the hill

To kill a mouse it normally takes about 4 direct hits with the missile, that is assuming the mouse's shields were at full but keep in mind there is a fast leech as soon as you are not in a hill.

To be honest I'm not quite sure how it happens but I think renaming the map does this? If someone knows why and how this happens feel free to let me know. I've had other maps I've made have the same problem.

This looks extremely fun, finally a good alternative to the constant Tremors and Mice!

I'm going to download and tell you what I think after I play it.

This looks like a lot of fun. Something finally new that involves mice running away from something! I sort of got tired of Tremors and Mouse (sorry mastar). I am going to makeone of these on Avalanche if that is ok with you. I love this though and can't wait to play.

I remember playing one round of this with you.

It was a lot of fun being one of the "zombies," and the hills were well placed from what I could see, though I never actually got a chance to play on a mongoose. : (

You might want to ask GT: Dthen, he is making a very similar game to this on avalanche except it's zombies not KoTH.

To be honest with you if I never mentioned the no assassination rule there would be no problem. The only way you can be assassinated is when you're off your mongoose. If someone wants to be cheap and slowly walk around without their mongoose trying to assassinate you, the only way they could accomplish this is if you get out of your mongoose and try to fight with him.

lols, i played on this map a few days ago before it was posted, but it seems that i was actually playing the bonus game. Unfortuately, i never had the luck to be a "zombie." So now i get to go out and try the original version. Good job!

Very well planned game, it looks very fun. Seriously...

The only thing that made me go sadface was that each round only has 2 minutes. Well, I guess that's sufficient already but I don't know......

It really looks like a perfect hybrid of infection and king of the hill. I like your ideas and maps very much. Keep up all the good work.

Very nice, very fun, very VERY chaotic. I remember playing this with you before you released it and that was hella fun.
Yes, I am working on an infection based game similar to this on Avalanche.
The only thing I can think of is when I played it with you, the "zombies" ALWAYS got the most points.
And the rounds are short ;)
    Nice job. :p

This has actually been adjusted, in the game I played with you the zombies were scoring 6 points a kill, in the posted version they only score 4 per kill.

I actually agree that it would be a little bit longer, when I was testing it there were 3, 4 min rounds. However, a lot of people were complaining that they didn't get chance to be the zombie. So, without making the game any longer I shortened the time and put more rounds allowing more people the opportunity of being one of the two zombies.

Also I have made a newer version which I'm currently tweaking, the main changes have been the fact I made it hard for the zombie to destroy the mongoose when a player falls off it.

Looks like a great idea with nice gameplay. I'm keeping this one on my harddrive until I can get a game on it.
