Vivid, Mirror, Discharge, Thermal, and Rush

Hey these screenshots look way better better than your first one, neon junlge, that i just posted on. The lighting on these pictures look way better and also you got different combinations of colors on them as well.

My favorite is Discharge, I am in love with the way the color like outlines the spartan, and the way the shotgun pellets bursts out and cause like shiny speckles. Great job on the others too, 4.5/5

 

This one would be amazing if you got rid of the left side and the whole screenshot had the same coloring and FX as the right side.

 

Ya i actually kind of agree that would be cool if you got the left side of the sig like deleted. It would be liek one of the best screenshots ever in my opinion if the whole picture looks like the right side. It really looks like it was edited in photoshop but it isnt.

Great job again, Debo. I must tell you, you are extremely talented for someone who is just getting into screenshots. Most people go with the simple genade effect on their first tries.

My favorite would definitely be Mirror. I think it's fine just the way it is, and definitely file share worthy. When viewing screenshots based solely on effects, such as these, people generally tend to enjoy pictures that don't have any recognizable gemometric features from maps, such as the pipes in "Jungle". Mirror does the best with creating a background completely independent from Ghost Town.

Having recognizable map features, however, is not always a bad thing. It is simply a general consideration for effect shots that have spartans/elites/monitors as a focal point. If the map geometry seems familiar to the audience, it will most likely catch their eye more than the focus. The only exception for a higher quality effect shot would be that with map geometry as a focal point.

Remember, people look most for originality with screenshots. I find this most difficult with effect shots. Once a truly original effect is invented (Ex: creating the silhouette of a spartan through active cammo and energy blockers), it will assuredly be overused by the entire Halo community.

As I've told you before, there are two general options for creating quality screenshots. These are forge art and effect art. Effect art, such as what you have here, is the easier of the two and is therefore more commonly used. When looking at the content provided by he-who-has-the-most-downloads-ever (you know who it is, his name is left out to avoid advertising), it is clearly visible that most of his screenshots are the perfect cross between forge and effect art. Most of his screenshots, therefore, have several million downloads.

Overall, there are many ways to create quality shots other than forge and effects. These are simply what I know to be the best for gaining popularity. All of these exhibit excellent use of effect art, but Mirror is definitely the greatest.
