Criticism creates improvement. If you don't want to improve, why make a video? If you don't want honest opinions, why share it? I just want to know why you said that, because you restrict what people can say back to you without developing an arguement. I had mixed feelings, if you want to know how you could improve it, then please do ask.
It's not like we're trying to put you down so you don't make montages/videos anymore. Criticism we are talking about is how you can improve your next video. Take map making for example, you make a cool map, but a wall is crooked and looks really bad. I am testing your map and tell you to fix the wall when you make a second version and you do so. Wouldn't this help you make better maps? Or is it just me?
Well firstly, understand that what i am about to say is only to help you in making a more successful final montage; - I thought the intro was just a bit too long, i wouldn't go longer than 5-10 seconds - You recorded with no in-game sound, which kind of detracts from the entertainment value - You stayed with the same clip too long. Slow motions generally don't work too well, and you should try and cut all the useless parts out and keep it just to the important parts - You should fade clips from one to another, or insert transitions to make it a bit more interesting - Creating a montage of a serious nature is difficult. It demands high quality clips and equally high quality editing experience. You may be better by making a montage aimed more at being entertaining. Choose a lively song that interests you, with a strong beat, and work from that. - Try and incorperate syncing the video with the audio as often as possible. This requires a lot of playbacks in the editing stage to get it just right. This is a very powerful way to make your montage more fun to watch.
I think that covered what I was going to say too Matty. I'm actually going to save that and look back on it when I make my first montage soon.
Do you even take 0.01% imperfect? You just kind went way too far, no offense. By the way, the cutting out part is OK, but I would leave the ending parts so people can take a good look at the metals, instead of going like,"****!!!! What metal was that, looks like I have to go back and quickly pause to see what metal that was." K? BTW You kind of sound like you want it, "your way."
I'm sorry if im sounding ferocious or intimidating, but i don't think your quite understanding the situation. Making a good montage is no easy task. I'm not criticising you because i don't think it's good. I am offering experienced suggestions because i know what you want is very difficult, and i want you to make it the best you possibly can. I know people with years of experience with video editing, and even then, they havn't reached a peak. I'm not trying to get you to make a video 'my way', That would be a horrible thing. I watch montages daily and seeing the repetition is gruesome. I want you do your best, you have to be individual, create your own style, and break the boundries. I didn't give you advice on the above, i told you general things that people look for in a video. Consider them the basics to video editing. You don't want to end up with a video that people have to work at just to try and enjoy. You want something that flows, that people can just watch with ease, and then want to watch again and again. Good examples of this individuality and easy of viewing would be Dutchy's 'Lag Warrior', 'Rewing 2' or, if your a Halo 2 fan, 'The Dead Serious Tage'.
It'll take time for me to me a beast at editing, I'm just starting to learn. So I'll use those things in the future.
What the hell is that supposed to mean,"Your HD sucks..."? Did you mean the widescreen, or did you even watch in HD. I like how you say random stuff that people REALLY wouldn't give a **** about. It's a trailer for ****'s sake.
