I got a question for Fritzer, or Kon I guess... But why did you put an OS on the map? (Unless I have the wrong version) There is an OS floating in one of the corners, not a CP, but an actual OS... At first I thought it was one of the landmark signal-thingies that hadn't been set to spawn at the start, but when I went into forge there wasn't any box set to spawn over it or anything.

EDIT: I went to the ForgeHub thread and saw CP in your Weapon List, so I'm gonna DL again because I guess I had the wrong version

I haven't played anything more than FFAs one it yet but to me it seems like a pain to get where you want to go. I mean, don't get me wrong, the map flows very smoothly, it's just when I see someplace I want to go, Rockets for example, I have to stop fighting, look around for a way up, get there safely, and then get the Rockets. Obviously they're put in the open so it's dangerous, but they just seem obnoxiously out of the way (moreso than usual).

You're forging is pretty solid as usual but there are a few hiccups which I wasn't sure were on purpose. Some corners stick out, some boxes aren't flush, but those you don't notice during the gameplay. The only thing I every really noticed during an actual game was the geomerged corner wall along the back wall opposite the Sniper spawn (hopefully that makes sense to you), it just doesn't make it to the top of the box so it does noticably down the flow in that area.

One last thing... You can make it up to that top ridge that borders Foundry's roof and walk along there (on both sides of the map, although the window side requires a grenade jump) but as far as I can tell it's inescapable.

Ugh, now that I'm done I see that that's a lot of criticism (hopefully a little constructive) but I really do like the map, nice work Fritzer

Also, I love the uncovered crane ;) Thanks for not covering it, it looks way better

Wow its about time this got featured, I saw this from the start and I couldnt have been more empressed. Just the way this map goes is so incredible. This maps based on more ramps then jump which makes it so much more fun to play on. I loved playing on this map its for sure a epic map. Congratulations on the feature, 5/5

I have to say that I rather enjoy this map. Before I go on. Many maps on forgehub restrict players ability to jump to different areas. While Regicide promotes quick jumps to allow players to get to higher ground quicker. Foundries natural geometry aids in some jumps.

An example of this would be the crane that most people hate. Instead of blocking the crane Regicide embraces the crane as a quicker way to jump from "A walk" to rocket spawn. This rewards players for knowing the map well. Rewarding players for jumps is what Lockout did and we can see it in Regicide as well.

Onto Regicides Line of Sight (LOS), Points of Interests(POI) , Risk vs rewards(RvR), and weapon balance(WB).

Face the facts MLG maps need to be open to promote team shooting. The LOS of Regicide limit players visability requiring them to move around the map to aquire an enemy player or assist an allie. The geometry of Regicide creates the needed blockage of LOS.

The WB and RvR work well. Each team has equal chance to aquire rockets. Rockets are located top mid of Regicide. This creates a very dangerous place to be, because players can see top mid from pretty much everywhere. At the same time going for rockets is even more risky, because of the other team going to rush it. One team spawns closer to the sniper and the other spawns closer to the OS. Regicide has weapon balance.

Regicide also rewards players for taking high ground. The "A walk" and sniper spawn are good POI/RvR. Both are risky spots and little less than half of the map has LOS to them.

    Hope you enjoy the read.

Honestly, looking at the pictures of the map, I thought it wasn't even worth a download. But it was the map flythrough on the original thread (great song BTW) that made me realize how everything really flowed together. Definitely a cool MLG map (but I hate most of them) and I'll try to pry some of my friends away from Call of Duty to play.

You have the right version. The map used to have a Custom powerup at 120 sec respawn. It now has a Red OS at a 90 sec respawn. The reason for the change was to stop it from being burned all the time and also to pull some of the power away from the sniper location. These recommendations were made by Killa KC who is the MLG game designer and they worked extremely well with gameplay. Hope that clears that up.

i'm sorry but i think i am the first person not to like this map. I have played it quite a few times before it was featured. For some reason i just don't like the gameplay. I am happy MLG is going more asymmetric because i am just as tired as everyone else of the onslaught remakes coming out 24/7. But this map's gameplay was actually my least favorite of the vA maps. It just was never fun for me even when we were winning.

I've played close to a dozen games on Regicide and every match played out differently. First few rounds were just walk-throughs but still didn't disappoint. The aesthetics of this map just elevate the gameplay 10 times over. A-walk and sniper spawn really showcase Fritzer's originality and clean, smooth forging. Every level, ramp, catwalk, or bridge can be accessed through multiple jump-ups and/or coordinated crouch jumps. Regicide really flows flawlessly.

Besides how sick the map looks, the gameplay is something unique to Regicide in its own. Every match plays out differently, placing emphasis on MLG's main focus of deciding which team has the best combo of skill, map control, and communication. I can't see how this map doesn't make it into the '09 Circuit. Best map I've downloaded on Forge Hub ever.

I don't see why people complain about jumping, have they played MLG pit? I don't see the point of MLG.... it just gets rid of like everywhere the enemy can't get to by looking at pit.... All MLG pit is is a box anywhere you can't normally jump to. I like this map though.

Regicide is great for frantic gameplay and melodic movement. MLG isn't my kind of style in the first place though. I played the MLG Testing version and it was pretty exciting. I just kind of suck at MLG. My Battle Rifle is fine but I just am a crap-ass tactician when it comes to MLG. Anyways, it's not my style of gameplay but it's a great map. Great forging and the gameplay is as planned. Gratz on the feature.

Its good to see some good asymmetrical MLG maps.

I'm guessing we'll be seeing more though, seeing as Shiska has said maps that use the budget glitch are not allowed in matchmaking (in his map making group on Bnet).

Mk, that makes sense, I hate that random burning glitch... Sometimes I wonder if Bungie did that on purpose

well, looks great. i dl'd and walked through it but had no1 on to play with, but ill defently try it out later tongiht w/ a party. very original and defently adds a whole new design to MLG maps. cuase 2 base are so old...

one thing that should be edited unless it was done purposly. over by the B sign, u can jump from the rocket bridge onto it. then from there jump up onto the tower thats there. now im sure that was do on purpose becuase of where the sign was set up. but from that tower u can jump onto the lip that runs around the whole top of the map, and from there u can get onto the large angled structure near the OS. AND from there u can jump onto the center tower near the rockets. jsut thought it was a bit odd becuase the only way to those 2 structures were along that lip.

Spectacular map! When I first downloaded regicide off on bungie.net, I thought it would be similar to mlg amplified. But no , regicide was much better. The interlocking was fantastic and the geo-merging was phenomenal. I think this map would be an excellent addition to mlg maps. 5/5

congrats on Regicide, you definitely deserve it. Its a great map. lots of routes to choose from and great LOS, and a few difficult jumps that are worth it to learn. I hope it makes it to V6.

This was an awesome map and I'm glad I could play test this. I don't believe I was in your games with you, but when my friend Phuria and the other testers needed an 8th I was amazed with this map.

Not the same concept as the Sketchup, but just as good I think. 11/10 map, good job. The months of work were well worth it.

This map was hyped up so much, and gameplay was great, and yay first 09 feature.
I played some MLG on here earlier, and it was fun. The Merges were really good and planned well, but i felt that it was too... something. The map had Aesthetics within the design features, and some things that aren't very often seen. The gameplay played as well as Amplified or Onslaught, but still that something was missing. Now it was a great map, not my favorite, but very good. It seemed on the top level, opposite window wall, that it was very open. MLG maps aren't supposed to have a bunch of hiding spots, i know, but a couple doors lining the edge would've been nice.
The "something" I was looking for was... take it, or leave it, the "wow factor" Yes, the gameplay was fun, the design was great, the merging was phenominal, but really... it neded something to seperate it from other great feature maps. I guess since its on foundry everything is sort of running together in my head, but TDHarding's Renagade had a Arch Bridge, and long aesthetically pleasing tunnel system. Draw The Line's Gridlocked had collums that evened out gameplay, (nobody can hide up top somewhere with sniper, etc) it was balanced... Regicide although fun to play on, lacked the extra push it needed. Regicide may inspire people to get creative, and it may teach people good gameplay, but those people who do, need that creative mind-set to really blow our minds.

I have to say that when I saw this with my MLG obsessed friend, The first thing that I noticed was that the corner walls in the last picture looking like the recon helmet visor. that is just the coolest little aesthetic value in that corner. The map looks great while maintaining some even better gameplay. congrats Fritzer
