Bomb Squad

    This is an idea for a gametype I am designing, which may eventually develop into a full league, over at my website. It is entitled Bomb Squad, and is a very tactical version of One Bomb, for certain asymmetrical competitive maps. It could be played with a wide variety of party sizes, from 3v3 to 6v6 possibly.

    Each player has a BR, 110% damage, one life and no health recharging. Yep, no matter how long you wait, your health does not recharge, and you only have one life. That means that efficient team firing is your best tactic. The bomb carrier has normal speed and 110% health to resist against the attackers, and no waypoint.

    There will likely be 5 rounds. This game will be grind-it-out, the patient team wins, and team firing is essential. The bomb takes 5 seconds to arm, has a 15 second fuse, and takes 5 seconds to disarm.

    Players do not have radar, and to make it even harder, do not have ally waypoints - you don't see each other's service tags.

    It would be played with many customized versions of default maps, such as The Pit, and many Forge Union maps such as Tribulum. For custom powerup settings, I'm thinking the powerup will give the advantage of radar for 45 seconds. The rounds will be relatively short, maybe 3 minutes.

    Thoughts?

    i really like this idea, from the looks of it though camping could easily be a problem. Also sounds a lot like a counter-strike game on dust or some other bomb oriented map.

    I like it. You might want to look into setting up the CPU traits too so it could be used if a map author wanted to. Perhaps make it similar to the MLG traits in that the OS could be burned to prevent the other team from getting it. Or perhaps not; just something different than the way red OS works. Radar, leech, something.

    Thanks guys. Blanked - I don't see how camping could be a huge issue, sure there better not be any shotguns on any maps that this is played on, but I'll just have to see. Squid, I was thinking the CPU could give you a one-time shield recharge possibly, or I could definitely give them radar for a little while.

    it wouldnt be a huge issue, but in some situations it could still be bad. I honestly couldnt tell what the game is like until i played it. no radar helps but The fact that you have a BR and 110% dmg can give a free kill to any camper with even just a decent br, seeing as they could easily get the first two shots

    MLG uses 110% damage, and it is a very slight difference. It really just pushes some 5-shot scenarios to 4-shots. It still would remain hard to camp, and I've never considered using the BR to be camping.

    It just makes the chance of getting a four shot a little bit higher.

    Anyway PM me if you want to test this out, it sounds like fun!
    My GT is BioMetal so hit me up somtime to play it.

    I'll keep you in mind, thanks. Unfortunately, I've been told that respawn on kills never properly worked, so I'll have to take out that part.

    I think the custom power-up should give the player full shields because if your shields aren't going to recharge, you would have to use it wisely and not simply rush it at the beginning of the game. I think I'd need to see how the map's laid out to get a better idea of how the game's played.
