it's a guy richie film, enough said, really. if you liked snatch or lock stock and two smoking barrels, you'll love it.
Then I must see it immediately. Its funny how good of a film Snatch is, yet many people haven't even heard of it. Quite a shame...
SNatch was a great movie, but thats not this year. For this year in no particular order iron man dark knight street kings Pineapple express
1. The Dark Knight 2. Quantum of Solace 3. Step Brothers 4. Hancock 5. Religulous Wasnt a good year for movies really :/
On the way to my BBall game, I watched The Dark Knight and it reminded me why it is my favorite movie of the year. Eagle Eye and Hancock were also good, while I felt Ironman and Step Brothers were just average.
1. The Dark Knight 2. Iron Man 3. Hancock 4. Step Brothers 5. Wall-E 6. Get Smart That's in no specific order but all those movies were good. The Dark Knight was just plain awesome and Iron Man was cool too. Get Smart was better than I thought it would be and step bros was funny. Wall-E was different in a good way. I never got around to seeing pineapple express :/
Oh and I would also like to addin the curious case of benjamin button although i havent seen it yet it looks amazing and has been nominated for 5 golden globe awards
My top ten, recommended: 1) The Dark Knight - highly anticipated, but did not let me down. Still never finished the movie in theaters, though...(reel burned during the climax) 2) Cloverfield - my friends and I waited a year for it to come out, and it was amazing. 3) Step Brothers - so dumb, yet hilarious. 4) Pineapple Express - I have no idea why I laughed so much at this movie, but I did. 5) Get Smart - this completely blindsided me. Great movie. 6) Iron Man - I was jumping back and forth between seeing it or not, and didn't regret going to see it. 7) 21 - I don't care what people say, that was a good plotline. 8) Speed Racer Eagle Eye - classic thriller. 9) Untraceable - plot really came together at the end. I clapped for several minutes. 10) Appaloosa - haven't seen a good western in a while.
Dark Knight had nothing on Wall-E except violence and so much more hype, and people complaining "there's no talking!". But there is, just the beginning's pretty talk-less to try to set a tone, which it does extremely well. I'm not saying Dark Knight was bad, actually it was superb. However, Wall-E goes far beyond it, I'd say my favorite animated movie ever, past favorites like Toy Story and Finding Nemo. 21 was pretty good, I guess. Other than the fact that counting cards isnt like that, the film itself was quite good. Maybe I missed something on Get Smart, but I hated it. I might've laughed...once or twice. The whole movie. Me and my dad got free tickets and we both agreed it was a waste of our time. The jokes were old and way too overused, and acting and characters sucked...they tried, but it felt cliche and not funny unless you haven't been to the movies in ages or completely high on something or other. Iron Man was pretty good. Not a picture winner though. Not close. It was an enjoyable film though. Quantum of Solace...I saw this on the first night it came out, 12:01, sitting in the front rows, same as I did with Dark Knight. It was a pretty good movie, but it didn't feel like Bond, it was too much like Jason Bourne. Bond in this is too dark and the movie just didn't feel 'right'. The plot was only half decent, acting was OK but certainly nothing Dark Knight quality. Hancock started great for the first half....and then failed miserably. A great example of epic acting meets a sudden fail in scriptwriting. Eagle Eye was another decent movie, like Quantum or Iron Man. Not picture winner quality, but enjoyable.
The Wrestler-Absolutely incredible film. Wall-E-Clever satire and a heart warmer. Get Smart-Heel Turns aplenty
