noob! Don't quote the entire wall. lol. But still he is not need to post improvements for the future. It is not a rule that he has to help someone. Most reveiws, such as movie reveiws, don't say how the actor could have been better. They just either exalt or damn the movies existence. So he needs not post a "how to improve" if he does not want to.

Thank you for being such a harsh critic; someone that actually downloads the map and plays it before reviewing it is always welcome at ForgeHub. This site's been headed downhill for some time now, and if it takes some blunt negativity to knock some sense into the vast majority of the users on this site that believe interlocking and geomerging are all that matter when it comes to mapmaking then so be it. I wouldn't have it any other way. Keep up the good fight, and know that not everyone here is against you.

Sorry about the wait megathumbs. The reason for it taking so long is because I try to play the map before I rate the map. I dont just look at the pictures like most people do and say "OMG, bad interlox and no geomerges 2/5". Your map thought will be definately one the next to be rated.

I wish I had the time and patience to reply to all the fail in this thread.

Keep up the good work. I honestly believe this is one of the only ways to get people actually to listen to advice. In a 'positive' review, people get caught up in the positive remarks and don't even pay attention to what could actually help them. It may take a bit, but I think your critiques will probably start to gain an audience. I know I'd listen.

Actually, this is great. We don't generally get someone who does something like this - or at least haven't since Review Hub stopped reviewing (they will return...eventually). So, I'm pretty impressed, I guess you'd say. Are you doing minigame maps too? I worked on my 'Cave Freaks' map for months, and didn't really get anything but 'looks good 5/5'...but its certainly not a competitive map. You can find it in Minigames a few pages back, Featured Maps (read the actual post, though, please...I guess you could say it's a complex map), or last week's Bungie Favorites, if you downloaded those.

@the cover thing: Cover is still an important part of a map, but should generally take a back seat to flow, I believe. For instance, take Guardian. You don't see things jutting out all over for 'cover', but if your one shot and you need to hide, you can get to somewhere. Also, every place you can take 'cover' in is generally flankable and grenadable. Remember, we're playing Halo, not Gears of War.

Hopefully the douchebaggery will subside, but I can certainly appreciate you taking the time to play and give a map a thorough review. But try and keep the asshole-ness to a minimum, if you would. Internet shitheads are a dime a dozen and we'd like to keep that out of here as much as possible.

Exactly. Cover is your(the general "your", not you specifically) map's geometry, not some stupid crate or sign.

Right. I see now. Because I'm not a long-term or prominent member, I'm nobody. My opinion doesn't matter. You don't recognize the username, you don't recognize the opinion. Thanks for clearing up the problems as far as the hierarchy at Forge Hub.
Maybe you posted after I edited the main thread or maybe you didn't read it, but it says:

BTW, main post edited to include testimony from Insane, Debo, and to include critique of Telmson.

I always try to read the thread beforehand, but it's often ridiculous with some random back story usually about a random UNSC Training Facility so I stop. I'll read the whole thing and play it some time soon, but reviewing it won't be easy, it's kind of out of my element

I really doubt you'd do casual maps, but if you ever wander over there, I wouldn't mind a review of Township. Even if I do end up crying by the end of it.

I have a feeling I'll look at this later and delete the post. This guy is like the Simon Cowell of Forgehub.

Was it grif who had "the AJ review"?

I think you should change your name, not your user name, but just this whole review process in general.

Now It's wonderful you are actually reviewing things on the basis of actually downloading, but first: just because there is some bad, doesn't mean there is reason to leave out the good. How is anyone going to know what they did right if you don't tell them.

My major quam...ditch the bullshit number system. It makes you seem like ever other nub ass douchebag posting in the map forums. I give this review system a 2.15/5, why? I don't know, I just made it up in my head because it sounded good. Oh, 4/5 on your last post, and 3.47/5 on your user name. Exactly, if you are going to push numerical values, back up what reasoning you have for even giving it one, or don't

Set out a chart of things like:
    spawns x/10
    gameplay flow x/10
    structure x/10
    aesthetics x/10
    weapons x/10

That way people know why they actually got a number, and not just because you felt like it. Oh, and having people suggest their own maps for review isn't the best system either.

Lol, he sure did. Why was it called that? This post basically sums what others have said. Listen to chrst, he know what he doing; he's not gray like us.

I'm sick of people telling me how to review. They don't need me to rate every single part of the map because I already tell them what's wrong and how to fix it.

Yes and while I am doing that why don't I just send all the colored names a fruit basket.

I don't want any melons in mine, I'm allergic to them.

No bananas for me....I guess you'll have to do every fruit basket separately...haha

Darn those "nub ass douchebags" who use a numerical scale. Darn them to heck. They are public enemy number one. Those guys who are running rampant saying, "looks good, 4/5 I'll DL adn play with my firends" are obviously not a concern, but that guy who actually downloads and plays the map and then uses a numbered rating system? Darn them.

I'd have to say I'm with TDharding, Insane and a few others when I say, I like what you are doing. Any good mapmaker needs someone that isn't biased to tell them how there map plays. I really prefer hearing the negative about my maps as thats how they become better. If all I hear is "good job 5/5" I guess I'm supposed to assume my map is perfect? Most of the people complaining about your style of review don't want to make good maps, they want to be told there map is better than it actually is. Keep doing what your doing. Also, do you review MLG maps? They really gotta be tested 4v4 though as thats what there designed to play. The map Unleashed v2 in my sig could use a solid review if you would like to.
