    Recommended Players: 2v2 to 4v4
    Required Gametype: Conquest V3 >Download<
    Pronunciation: Kaz-um

    Description:
Chasm is a truly unique Conquest map. It's the first to feature a death pit, and its death pit is the largest ever made. The linear Conquest feel is still retained though, with players following a single path that snakes through the canyon.

The massive death pit, which uses every possible teleporter.

    Layout:
The pathway is in an S shape and crosses the canyon 3 times. There are 5 territories; one on each of the three bridges and one in each hallway. Players can see all the way across the canyon to the other side but shield doors placed on the walls prevent combat across bridges from getting out of hand. A single, lonely barrier stands on the center bridge and is quickly blown to pieces by the two teams fighting at the beginning of the round. It never respawns :(

    The starting point

That poor barrier... Note the gap between the shield doors :)

    Weapons:
The fight that ensues when two teams meet in the center is rediculous. The plentiful duel-wieldable weapons ensure that you'll be met with a hail of bullets as you step onto the central bridge. There is also a BR on the side bridges that can prove extremely deadly in the right hands and a CPU spawns late in the round in each hallway. Make sure the single frag and plasma grenade each side gets is put to good use.

The hallway, which contains the bulk of the weaponry. (The CPU isn't hasn't spawned)

    Map Overview:

    Weapon Rundown:
    4x Spiker, 30 sec
    4x Plasma Rifle, 30 sec
    2x SMG, 45 sec
    2x Needler, 30 sec
    2x Battle Rifle, 45 sec
    2x Frag Grenade, 20 sec
    2x Plasma Grenade, 20 sec
2x Custom Powerup, spawns 2:30 into round

    Special Thanks:
Sqorck - For getting the Death Pit working
Smeagle - For the cool BR Button
LIGHTSOUT225 - For showing me Chasm didn't need to be glitched
WyntersByte - For the entertaining death pit fights we had before the teleporters were put in

nice map. i like the weaving in and out of the central area, and the death pit seems to be used quite well. must try this one. though the shield doors seem to cut of the line of fire and it would be fun if you could shoot al the way from one end to the other without shield doors partially interrupting you.

This is probably the most ingenious, clever, and amazing Conquest map I've ever seen. What a unique idea - a snaking hallway above a death pit. gameplay seems solid, aesthetics nice. 4.5/5 for a Conquest map, and Queued for DL!

I played this with you like a long time ago. I thought the gameplay was pretty epic and the death pit was pretty deathly, where as I would fall off a lot.

Well, that's the point of 'em. Without them, people firing on you from other bridges would be REALLY bothersome. The sheild doors balance that by providing the people on the other bridge a chance to move around and dodge your fire.

When I saw the overview, my jaw dropped! I didn't think it would be that epic. The layout is just beautiful, and for conquest? I really HAVE to download this map. The shield doors in the middle are ingenious as well, they prevent spawn camping, and also make it a playable map. The flow of this map seems amazing, especially with the central bridge keeping things going, and the gap to help keep in control of it.

Sweet, Drago. I've loved this map since it was nothing but a sketch-up concept. You and philthy (and Sqorck?) built it perfectly from there.

I've played on it twice, and it rocks. As a Conquest, it's hard to push into the 2 and 4, but that just makes the center that much more intense. Very similar to the Cellars, but with the superawesome death pit.

I listed this in The Book.

Oh wow. I had no idea you were the creator, I played this with Mastar and friends. I had immense fun, and this is what I thought.

Great idea. You took a small portion of the map, and made it huge. The idea is simple yet effective. Everything is obtainable and easy to follow. There is no confusion at all on this map, it gets straight to the point. Now on most competitive maps these days, I don't get 'competitive'. I play rather for fun, than to win. But in this, everything shifted. It turned the whole mode of a subtle party, to an extremely competitive one. Though not only that, but we actually had fun. I frequently feel rushed, and surrounded on most competitive maps, but this one totally defies the rest. While playing for braggin' rights, we were also laughing and have a good time. When the middle hill was being over run, I would try to adjust my players running skills and try to reach the hill faster before they gained a point. You constantly are in the action, and enjoy the hell out of it.

Though the map actually adjusts players main way of playing. When losing hills, your first instinct is to rush. After many failed attempts, and dead body's piling you start to modify your play. You start communicating with your team, organizing plans, and playing more cohesively. You could really play this for hours on end, seeing you can't really come to an end.

As for the map itself, everything is perfect. You have smooth interlocks, and such. But not much is needed to execute the idea you have given. The teleporter valley is genious, and alters players mind as I saif before. Many times it would be around 0:30 left, and was very intense. I ran as fast as my virtual player allowed me to, and blindly rushed. Alot of times I would end up face palming myself seeing I have fallen to my death.

Just great work of art. This is an excellent addition to my harddrive.

I played a game on this map. I think Orange was my teammate. I think we were winning until you started playing and made it 3 vs. 2.

Anyway, the map rocks. It's a solid Conquest map. Some of us have taken liberties with the Conquest game in the past, and AZN FTW definitely voiced his displeasure, but I think he'd be happy with this map. It's a classic Conquest map.

I'd love to play this again. I think there's even a Conquest G-Mint. We should try to get that sometime soon.

Played on this the other day with AmericanPhsyco, Whisper and Nemihara.

****ing epic map man! Everything just works so well to make it great fun and a hell of a challenge. Think every game we had finished with 1 point difference.

I did find a lack of grenades though but only because I wasn't picking them up as I walked along or couldn't see them very well.

Glad you finally decided to let this baby into the masses. I've had the esteemed pleasure of playing many games here already, and like Furious said, its classic Conquest at its finest. I too remember this when it was just a sketchup, and knew instantly that the map would be a huge success. Very well forged, and very replayable (which is one of the biggest factors in Conquest maps), AND under budget (your welcome)! Awesome map Drago.. just awesome.

I might be wrong, but i was under the impression that this was PonyD's map. i must be wrong, but just looked familiar i suppose. I had the same exact map on my xbox a week ago, and i didnt get it from you...

As for the map, its epic. Great idea and fantastic gameplay.

I love this map! The fact you turned such a simple layout into this is beyond me. I mean that's what conquest maps are known for, but this truly has amazing depth. Truly the largest death pit ever made, length-wise.

I bet you're surprised over all this positive feedback, I was waiting for 'needz moar interlox 5/5' When it didn't come, I was very surprised. I guess that is what I have come to expect of this community.....

Anyways, I would guarantee a download but I already did...

Drago and Phil did make this, as I was also there for a small section of building to offer my BR Button. If you want, we can get Pony in here to prove it.

I recently had seen a teaser shot of the map, and I thought to myself, "Is that a death pit, holy **** it's huge!" Come to find out, this is a Conquest map, my excitement is at it's peak. An ingenious design, that I thought would have sufficed earlier than today, has got my mind in all different directions. The unique S shape above a ginormous death pit is simply outstanding. Yes, 'SIMPLY OUTSTANDING'!

I'm glad to see this released, because you've changed the way I'll look at Forge forever, and you've given me a plethora of ideas to come. I may be the most enthusiastic person about this map at the moment. It's qued as I type, and my hands have never moved so fast.

Later tonight, I'll be sure to come back a give a decent review on gameplay and aesthetics. You sir, have me enthralled. Thank you!
