I just recognized that I can not open/ see my DLC maps or even watch films of them if I am not connected. Anyone has the same problem, or is this an update?
Could you give us any other details? For now, I'll say your not letting the DLC and custom content load. I never loads straight away . Just go to Customs Lobby and select the option to change the map. That'll load all the extra content. If that doesn't work, could you fill us in on some other details? Is this a common occurrence or just a once off? The maps should be available whether your connected to XBL or not, its unlikely that they're glitched to only work when you are connected. If that is the case, however, just download them again. You won't need to pay as you've already bought them.
Ok: when I want to change map, they just do not appear. Also not after choosing change map a second time. It says I do not own them. I also downloaded them a second time already. I looked at system-option. It says I own them. As soon as I connect to xbox live, it works. I can choose them to play with in customs and in forge. I can watch film clips of them. Enough detail?
Yes, this happens to me as well. I've tried re-downloading the heroic map pack, but it still doesn't work.
I have this too on my main GT, have had for a while, but my other GTs don't have the same problem, it's really weird. For me, what happens is: When I am online and load up Halo with my main GT, I go into Forge/Custom Games, and when I click on the map option to load up a map from the heroic of legendary, the list appears without either DLC. But in front of it a loading section comes up, with the standard spinning gears and the message 'loading your saved game content'. It takes quite a while, then after it's done I can see the map list again, still without DLC maps. I have to go back out of the list, then back in, all after the loading screen, then I can see the maps. But yeah, if I'm not online, then the loading screen never happens, and the DLC never loads, same with films just as you say. I don't know why it happens with this GT and not others, but I seem to remember it starting after I retrieved it on to my friends Xbox once. I've moved the GT back and forth a lot since, but the problem has always remained. It's pretty annoying not being able to play Halo properly offline, even my custom gametype variants don't show up.
When you pull up Forge go to "gametype" or "map" and let it load. It should work. If it doesn't try restarting you're game, and then try re-downloading the maps. This crap happened to me to and it sucks
It'll do that if you downloaded them to an xbox and then re downloaded them to a new one. Have you happened to have had RRoD and sent it into Microsoft?
This only happened when I was offline and trying to load Cold Storage. But Idk about your problem, have you ever migrated a hard drive?
I've had the same issue.... I think the only way to solve this problem is to load Halo 3 onto your hard drive. It kills normal load times, but you're able to play DLC maps offline.
I've had this problem since Heroic came out. If I want to do anything offline I just let the maps load online and then disconnect. It could be a major problem if my internet ever crashed though.
When I have the problem, I just go into recent maps and choose a DLC map and then it loads. It then will load the other DLC maps so you can use them.
Downloaded the maps on a brand new elite, and this problem occurs - loads all downloadble content online only. Deleted from hard drive and re-downloaded all the maps with no interruptions and the same problem occurs. I did have a 360 that RROD and never transferred anything from the old hard drive over to the new one. Would this effect the license of that content even tho I deleted and re-downloaded ? The only thing I can think of is that the original license is on the old hard drive which didn't transfer with the account/profile which IMO is why I can play the maps online only...offline the xbox doesnt recognize the license even tho it does recognize the files are there. My only solution is to purchase or borrow the HDD Transfer cable and transfer everything from old to new HDD while on xbox live. Anyone tried this already? If your in the same situation?
I've had a problem similar to this, where my xbox died on me and I bought a new one. As long as you use the same xbox live account as the one you bought the map packs with it should work.
