how did i know that this would get featured...because it is pure genuis. Great job Devinish and plan on getting some more tips from you forging...oh and after i get next map down i would like if you would test it for me...that would be great. GREAT GREAT GREAT MAP.
People are so correct about the features getting worse. The creator of this has obviously not bothered to take the time into making the map look better than something playing Halo for the first time could have created. The elevator is trying to sell the map, but it in itself is inefficient, breakable and unreliable. 2.5/5 for effort
Dthen, as much as I would like to agree with you, Devi spent a lot more time than you may think on this map. Sure, IMO, he could have spent more time on the map. But even if he made the map look better, it would still play the same. Gameplay is where it's at. IMO, the gameplay isn't all that great. But it's A LOT better than most other maps out there. And besides, the gibber jabber about featured maps getting worse is false. The last map that got featured has epic gameplay (better than most features of ol') and a very well forged layout. As for DoogNitized and Sanghelios (I'm not counting the 2v2 maps as features) are again well forged maps that play well. I'm not saying that every new feature plays better than the last. But they either play around equally, or look a lot better and play just about as good. Moon Waffle just so happens to be (IMO) a bump in the road (and I'm not saying it doesn't play good, I'm just saying to my taste of maps, it doesn't) of features to come. If I were to rate the five most current features (not including the 2v2 maps) then this is how I would list them: 1. Moon Waffle; 3.5/5 2. Verbatim; 5/5 3. DoogNitized; 4/5 4. Sanghelios; 4.5/5 5. Radius; 5/5
I've seen the switch work in the video, back when Devinish first released the map, but after almost an hour of trying, I never got it to work. Most of the mechanics woorked fine, but the dumpsters downstairs NEVER moved. EVER. And I tried a LOT of times.
First off, let me say that the elevator is excellent. I love it, and it works perfectly every time, and looks good doing so. The shield doors that make up the water are wonderful and the little grate down there is pretty cool as well. Now I have to get a bit negative, because I don't really see why anyone would use the elevator. You have to wait for it to open and wait for it to go up/down. That is a lot of time in which you would be in the same general area, and while waiting inside the elevator, you are just asking for a nade to the face. What I am saying is: why use the elevator when it is faster to just drop down off the bridge, or just jump up there. Also, the walls around the map look sloppy. Idk if that is what you were going for, but they are uneven and not flush with the walkway. There are also many gaps, such as the ones between the stairs that make up the walls of the sniper hallway. Sure the gameplay may be good, but a featured map should have the looks of a professional map, and IMO this one doesn't have feature-worthy aesthetics. A good map though. 7/10
wow very nice interlocking is smooth merging not messy id say overall rating 9/10 im problanly gonna DL when i get my shitbox back and congrats to devinish for the feature. and i liked how he put the regernarator to take the pics that added a nice touch
ive had this map since i first saw it on the community maps section. I have kept it on my hard drive because i love the elevator. The map surrounding the elevator is okay, but feels like it was just thrown in there. And the only other thing that has kept me from liking this map more is the practicality of the elevator. The elevator only moves about 10 ft vetically (I know that it would be extremely difficult to build higher), and rather than using the elevator, a player may just easily jump to the upper/lower platform. I think that maybe if the elevator took players to another part of the map that was inaccessible, further away, or otherwise more difficult to gain entry to, it would increase the dependency of this ingenious switch. EDIT: or possibly having the elevator or that little spot inside the elevator contain a power weapon, to promote the use of it.
1st-ly, its made to have the waffled feel and look to it, making it origional. ig you dont like it you dont like it. actauly dl the map and run around in it at least, then you'll know why its awsome. 2nd-ly, the elevator is only breakable if your in forge. play it it a game and break it then.
I kinda had the feeling that this would get featured. The switch was very very well made. It's good that it's a two-way elevator. The stairs structure is creative. The gameplay might not be the best, but the aesthetics here is pure awesomeness. Good job and congrats on the feature.
