Moon Waffle Created By: Devinish Gametypes Supported: All standard gametypes Recommended Gametypes: CTF, Slayer, Assault Recommended Players: 2-6 (Recommended: 2v2) By far, Moon Waffle is one of the most exquisite creations since Bastion's 5-minute switch. It has been dubbed "The Pallet Parade Killer" by many, and inexplicably complimented by the fact of its elevator, which alone is reason enough for someone to be in awe. Moon Waffle introduces new concepts to the art of switch designing. It has a "button" on both the bottom and top floors of the elevator to activate it. Upon activation, it does a variety of things, which only the mechanics & a detailed novel could explain to the fullest degree, but in essence, if you are at the top floor, it brings the elevator to your floor whilst opening the doors which safely keep you from falling into the elevator shaft. It works in a very similar fashion if you are on the bottom floor. As if it wasn't enough forging a beautifully replicated elevator, Devinish had to go and create an entire map along with it. The map is unique all on its own. There are some concepts & designs throughout there, that haven't been done before so well. Such as the ability to get into some serious fire-fights across the map through narrow slits along the majority of the map. There is also a unique bridge through the middle of the map, where he used the sides of stairs for walls, quite a rare use of stair. In conclusion, it goes without saying how much this map can and will change the ideas based around switches, and the maps built around them. your youtube vid isnt working. Anywya this map is so much fun. I love playing it the sapwns work great
I knew this was a definite feature right from the start, the switch works extremely well and the concept of teamwork needed here is very original apart from the empty void in the middle of the lift. Did you fix that? that was the only flaw that was involved with the map.
lol spamalot in a featured thread anyway yay! finaly featured... the texture, appearance and feel of the map are origional and phenomenal. not to mention the perfect spawns from teh spawn king himself.
the video is working for me. I saw this map a while back and i downloaded it. the elevator was quite amazing, ive never seen that done before. As for the rest of the map i wasnt so impressed. I thought that it was kinda sloppy, but the elevator made up for it. (tex arent you a guy?) if so that dude called you sexy hahaha
Why am I not surprised this map got featured? Oh yeah, because it's a fricken epic map. Congratz on the feature.
Doesn't work for me or half of the other people. Why? *sigh* I guess i'll copy and paste. This is the reason embedding pictures is mandatory...
We seem to be having trouble with goldbrick. We're working on the problem guys. Omg, don't let your back go out on you. It's not worth it.
This map is what happens when you mix LSD, Forge, And Devinish. I think this map is more trippy then Distortion. I do like the map design i am glad that the elevator works perfectly now. I remember when it was still kinda iffy and now is works like a charm. A well deserved feature.
I saw that the vid wasn't working either, I hope it's fixed for all now. Either way, I'm not happy this go featured. But at the same time I could care less that it is featured. Good job on the switch Devi.
The vid is working for me, that elevator is awsome. the rest of the map doest look too shabby either.
If you don't like the map say Okay. We (as the staff) don't use Poor anymore because that term demeans the map, therefore demeaning the map creator, therefore deaming the staff's pick of feature. If we think it's feature worthy, then there's at least one reason to like it by all. The only thing I like of it (and see it feature worthy) is the elevator. Sure, a feature should have more aspects than just that, but a lot of people (and the staff) like it for other reasons. Like gameplay, layout, and so forth. So it's only fair that it is featured. It holds its own with an awesome switch, somewhat alright gameplay (IMO) and with a decent enough layout.
