geez... someones hella jealous of how sexy i look... Anyways, i will have some new things to contribute in about a week. i dont believe they've been done, but who knows.
Nice Idea This is a really efficient technique squidhands used, called the Teeth, in his featured map, Radius, and it really works as cover and should be considered, what do u think redeyes? Also for anyone who still doesnt get the point of this topic, Redeyesmaster has compiled a collection of aesthetically appealing ideas from a myriad of maps to show some tried-and-proven ways to make your map not only look, but play better. Amirite? EDIT: NEW PIC: redeyesmaster i'm disappointed you missed a very obivous merge that is very effective and is extremely pleasing to the eye, it is thesilencebroken's bridge technique used in HIS featured map, Vertebraille, and it should also be considered. (look at the bottom pic of this shot, silence you make it so hard to do this!!!!!)
I got an idea for one that I will put up shortly . It is a combination of two things that are put up here.
Have you updated the list at all? I'm sure some one looking at this thread wouldn't want to filter through all the pages of conversation just to find ideas...
Supported Bridge I have found another picture, of an interlocking technique used in a lot of featured maps, the Supported Bridge, which has been used in Slate Creek, Sanghelios, Bayonetwork and Curbstomp to name a few, it makes the bridges architechturally possible (The picture is from Sanghelios, by Phreakie)
Yes, but first in Curbstomp and Bayonetwork. That technique has been used in just about every new map actually, im kind of sick of seeing it.
In my old map Jambi I had signs to show were the teleporters lead to. Here's A-Sign Tele's... --and I know you said keep it to one pic. But this was a base I was working on in a map that I was working months ago... which I've now no longer have. (The two double open boxes, four bridges, one single box open, two wall corngers, and two fence walls)
This is CodeNamed the ManCannon. Any other name is fine this is just what i found on a Repetition Final Preview Post. This map is made by Youtuber (KillerK MSU) and xLMSxTRiLoGY (me) I know other people may have made this in the past and if they hay i give credit to them also
I should have said that it first appeared in Curbstomp and Bayonetwork, but Sanghelios was the first one i found, so i used that one
It sure was. :-D And its been put togood use ever sence. SUGGESTION: Showing ho to make these...? It's pretty much commen sence but some people aren't that great at forge and may want to know how to do a few of these. (not all) Additions: martyrdom pillars Speed bumps curbstomp Flatline Fence box bases battery flatline Battery pillars Fence wall walk ways Bowl (first done by thesilencebroken i believe.) Slanted wall merges Pretty stairs :-D (last resort stairs) blindside Slanted abstract corner walls. (Ivory snakes was the first to use this as far as I know) Truck stop. high voltage (all GD) And ones I didn't have part in Railroad tracks Along with stair walls, recreations of the crane (using a single box and window panels), man cannon lights. I can think of more...
What about some non-foundry ones. As soon as I can I will get some cool aestetics for avalanche. Upside down watchtower base for holding veichals any more I can think of
wow guys i never seen any of these before im sorry i havn't got online that much or even said any thing i love the looks to it all much love to every one that helped out!
I forged the whole bird, and am planning to release a map with it as a feature. Also the image is my desktop background, on my laptop.
this is a few things i think but im not sure if i am the first to do battery v2 Pipeline and finally the blue pipes these three are from my upcoming map alkali photos down for a bit editing account photos back up now so yea lol
Ok that pipeline with the wire spools is easily one of the coolest things I have seen in forge in a long time. How has no one thought of that before.
lol. i'm probably a noob for thinking this but the first time i saw the pipeline i thought it was like somehow modded. I had to look a bit harder to see it was just forged objects >< but nonetheless awesome. That is real ingenuity!
You see, the point of forge is to make your own structures and see what interesting things you can come up with. If people didn't have the imagination, many of these that you showcased wouldn't exist. However, I have to give you credit for compiling this because while ingenuity is important, a guide is always helpful around here and I hope to see more added to this.
